Hello all
Had a few issues with the AM this evening and was hoping you might be able to help please.
Driving home, in the 08 V8V I got the engine light with "Emission Service Due". Now, i've had this before, and it usually goes after a few cycles, so not too concerned about it.
Now, here is the worringing bit. It then flashed up "SRS Airbag Service Urgent" followed by "Gearbox Oil Service" followed by "Brake Failure" and then the lights on the dashboard (the dials) going out completely and the car stalling at the traffic lights.
It started up again fine, but with no dials lit up and error messages still displayed. I have managed to get it home, but when I went to lock the car it would not lock from the button (only by key). Also, the asterix urgent amber light on the dashboard stayed lit for a good minute or two after i managed to lock the car.
Now, I've had a similar issue with a Porsche and the alternator had given up the ghost. I am guessing, given the range of "Urgent Messages" i got in such succession, this might be a battery / alternator issue? The battery will be 4 years old in February.....
Anyone with similar experience or some assistance would be appreciated!
Cheers

My old 4.7 roadster did something similar when the battery got drained.
As others have said put it on trickle charge until it is full then see what it does.
I'd suggest leaving it on a decetn trickle charger over the winter these thing like a few amps even when stood still soon drains a battery in the cold.
I cannot recall anyone having to actually change a dead battery yet.

I had something very similar with my DB9 Volante in Spain/France end of last summer. It all started with the roof failing to open and kicked off all the warnings you talked about plus a few extra (no ABS). No instruments worked but indicators would flash and lights come on for no rhyme or reason. Each morning I went to the car and it was back to normal - until lunchtime - when it all started to go wrong again. Luckily on an AMOC tour and with the help of the others got the car home. Mind you the owner of the DB5 couldn't understand what all the fuss was about - who needs abs, airbags etc anyway!
In my case the roof control module had failed and that was the sole reason for all the other problems. Apparently the wiring is on a loom and the error messages come as a result of computer probing not getting the answer its looking for (or something like that, don't really understand). Grange fixed it promptly but were pleased that they had all the data to work on as it helped them isolate the issue. Had her out at the weekend and seems to be fine now.

Thanks for the posts.
Quick update - Working fine today, no problems and no trace of all the error messages from yesterday except for the exhaust emission (which was on before this issue arose).
I am just hoping its nothing major being electrical - I am still going to get it checked over tomorrow.

Update: AM have diagnosed the problem to the 'Convertible Hood Module'. There are faults in the electrics of this apparently and it needs to be replaced. Car will be 4 in the new year, and I am starting to think an extended warranty might be worthwhile! (I am guessing this would be covered by it). Thanks for all your posts.

Not too surprised because all the modules hang together on a common communication bus if one goes down it can confuse the others or drain the battery BTW If it is that old and they have it for that long I'd read this and get them to check it
