Hi All,

Finally in the UK after a spate of work / leisure travel and picked out a couple of likely cars, how have you gone about checking your cars history? Is there a central service at AM where I can do this with a VIN number? Have you then gone on to contact the individual dealers to verify? Any tips much appreciated as ever smile

Hoping to have a shiny car on my driveway before Christmas!

Cheers

Kris

(tried the search but keep getting 404 errors).

Hiya Kris,
I'm not sure what age of car you are looking at, but (IMO) it is worth getting a main dealer inspection once you have found the right car, they should also check the history via the VIN, you could then also add on a warranty if the car isn't on cover. Dealers and A.M. customer services can access VIN records separate from an inspection, but "may" need the current owners permission to give this to you.

Best of luck with the search, it's part of the fun.

Hi Grant,

Thanks for the reply - they are both 2007 cars with appropriate AM servicing. All part of the fun indeed! smile Hopefully I'll finally have "my" car!

Sound like a great idea to check the car before parting with any money.
Here in Belgium I manage to get the information about the cars by asking the main dealers
I also found this possibility on the "astonmartintechinfo" site but this is not free...
Anyway the "database" only shows the information about what service or repair has been done in the AM network.
This couldn't answer the questions if the car has been fixed elsewhere.
