Hola people, can the ECU Key from one AM be reprogrammed to work on another?

Dealer says it can't be done.

Anyway round it?

Thanks

Could you have the transponder in the car reprogrammed to suit the ECU?

When I bought my DB9 (MY09) last year it came without the glass ECU. Garage that sold it to me found a 'spare' one and my local AM Dealer re-programmed it to work with my car. Can't remember if they even charged me for doing so but if they did it was negligible.

They needed both sets of plastic ECU's and did it whilst they were doing some other work for me. Hope that helps.

George, if the transponder is reprogrammed for this ECU then the other ones wont work??

Ian, the spare key that they've found was it actually 'blank' or programmed for another car?

Pretty sure it was from another car as the ECU was not new and had clearly been used before from the various markings on it. Not perfect but much better than paying out £600 for a new ECU and far better than the plastic ones that I had.

One dealer I've dealt with used to order 2 ECU's with ever new car from the factory and keep the second for resale after reprogramming to another car.

Gio - if you are going to Brentwood could you mention to Garry that the man with the Mako V12 still wants his teddy?

My niece is always pestering me for one of the teddies, might try and see if I can get another thrown in with the next service smile

I wouldn't pay the £32 + VAT for one off the online store though! Rip off for a teddy, even though he does have a cool fleece cool
