......into V12V ownership smile

Been planning on this for some time now as I"m totally smitten with the V12 Vantage. I owned a V8VR for a year in '08-09 and have been dreaming of having a V12 snugly tucked up in my garage ever since selling it.

Does anyone have any history of this car? http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3446710.htm

I was hoping to bag a Quantum one but black does look stunning (went to see the above car today). I also want the bucket seats but with a leather steering wheel. Does anyone know if the steering wheel is able to be swopped over if I was to find a car with a suede one?

Are there any "must have" options that I should be going for? B&O, whilst I'm sure it sounds lovely, the 700w system in my old vantage was amazing and I assume the B&O weighs far more too.

I also noticed that a newer 2011 model V8 at the garage had some rather nice looking new aeroblade wipers. Are these retro fittable onto an older car?

Thanks for any advice smile

John won't agree, but the Premium Audio is enough. You spend half the time listening to the engine and exhaust in any case.

I made the mistake of spending a chunk of money on audio for my M3 CSL, only to find that the induction noise killed off most of the audio spectrum.

I agree, the premium audio is fantastic but in My V8V I prefer the noise of the engine and exhaust in the main. I'd be delighted if a car had B+O fitted but I don't think I'd die in a ditch over it.

The steering wheel is inter-changeable at a cost of approx £500-700. But most sports cars come with leather steering wheel, not so alcantara, which has a great feel to it.
Oh yeah, must have options you ask. The boot umbrella of course! hehe

The B&O system is great . . . but so is the premium one. I've owned both and I wouldn't spend the money on the B&O again if I had the choice.

Bah!

The B&O has tweeters that rise up out of the dash. This is very cool.

Sound quality from 700W is very good, it's a touch better with the B&O.

But - would I pay £5,500 at RRP new for the B&O - not on your nelly!

Is Santa going to be good to you this year Mr Noble?! You always said you would get a V12V so I really hope you do. (not jealous, honest...)

Once you have finished with it in a year or so, if you manage to buy as good an example as your old V8VR, you have my details....

PS. your old car now has clear lights on it (and going as well as ever!!)

Oh great - I hoped that the steering wheels could be swopped over. I've never liked the dry feel on a suede wheel.

Agree on the B&O. If the car I go for has it fitted, then great, but it's not going to be a must have. (The brolly defo will be!!) hehe

Hi Robin, Pleased to hear that my old car is still putting a grin on your face! It really was a joy to own!

Just trying to decide in my head if I can live with spending over £80,000 on a car that'll get driven once or twice a month.............it's a tricky decision to have to make, but a very nice one!

You only live once!! biggrin

I'm sure another notable owner of the marque managed to live twice?

I did pay RRP for the B&O, then realised that you can open the window and hear something sooo much better. Now only switch on the B&O when its raining laugh

Thank you, absolutely fantastic to drive and the colour looks better in the flesh. I cant say I was unhappy with the deal, I swapped in my 2007 V8V with ASM box and it needed new tyres & a bonnet paint so I think I did OK.

Probably I am 38 years older than you smile That would make you 10 though... Although my missus reckons I am the mental age of 6 wink
