Well, I finally put my 2007 V8V up for sale on PH after much thought. I have owned it for a shade over two years and it has been absolutely faultless, a sad day.

I have yet to make a firm decision on the next car, but for now I wanted to say thank you to all that helped me with the advice when buying the car and all the good banter on here.

My thoughts go out to Rick right now who helped me on here and hope that things work out well for a really good guy.

I will keep in touch to see what is happening in the AM world, you never know, I may well be driving an Aston again in the future.

What finally made the decision for you?

Any ideas at all of next car?

I am thinking of selling my V8V next year as I have put a deposit down on an Alfa 4C although delivery isn't until Q4 2012

Good luck on the next purchase, I would be interested to learn what you went for.

Hey Ray.
You can at least say you have been there and done it. Owning one of the most exclusive cars available.
Whatever your reasons for leaving the fold I wish you well.
I'm guessing the itch will need to be scratched again, sooner or later.
AM's cannot be ignored.
Good luck

I guess the decision was the 2 year thing, that's how long I generally keep cars.

Yes, I have a very good idea, but it is not to be rushed.....

I really have enjoyed the manual, but miss the full automatic dual clutch, hard top convertable, this is where I am thinking...whistle

Thanks Di, I kinda feel sorry for the car, it's done nothing wrong, it's just a great car but I need to go try something else. I must admit the V12V was an obvious choice, but like you, prefer the auto box.
Maybe a DBS one day, but not for now.....

I am in the same boat Cipo, I will wait till spring to put mine up for sale. Having owned the car for 4 years
I am feeling it's time for a change.
What too? I really don't know but find myself comparing everything against the Aston which really does show what a great all rounder it is.

It's funny, I guess I have reached my pinnacle, getting old I guess. My V12V is going to last me another two years. There just isn't any car realistically that rings my bells more. Then with retirement looming the sensible head must take over. I achieved my dream and there is nothing currently out there ( poss a Spyker but that's ridiculous) would make me change.

I love my car.

Good luck with the sale. I hope you get something that gives you as much pleasure!

Well, I have to be
Honest that I was a little surprised when I saw this thread. But the next question I asked myself was, when is he getting the new motor and I hope it's soon. Can't wait to see it.

I'm sure you'll have no problems shifting it mate. It one of the best examples of a v8 I have come across and low mileage too.

To anyone reading this and thinking of A used v8, look no further. Top car, top bloke (and lady) and honest as the day is long. I know for a fact that it's been very well looked after. Since I detailed it, it's always had a coat of Swissvax on her and it even gets washed with filtered water to be kind to it.

Hey Dafydd, hope all is good with you and yes time has flown, hard for it not to when driving an Aston! I had Rick put some powerfold mirrors on it after I bought from you, and the latest steering wheel, must stop spending money on her! Surprisingly not done that many miles, originally it was my daily drive but work has taken me to London so I'm on the train every day now, I think I'm on around 47k, so not even run in yet!

You coming back to the fold anytime soon?

Your right, I do not see any issues with 47K on the clock providing this has been looked after.
When you thinking of selling?

I wouldn't mind having here back, she was looked after by me and sounds like you have given it plenty of TLC.
Have you had any issues since you have had her?

Hey Francis, long time....

Thanks for looking after her for me and those those kind words, the car still looks a picture, although I may need another detailing lesson very soon.......I just put the last coat of Swissvax on last week!

I'll be along shortly to have a chat with you once I have made my next choice of car.

Take care,
Ray
