Before I call out the services, anyone able to offer some advice. Car has been parked up for a moth, went to start it just now and nothing. Seems battery dead, although it was on charger but no lights on charger. I think I might have pressed the battery disconnect button. However I read this was removed from my model and age? But there was definitely a button next to where I plugged charger in. Tried connecting jump leads but nothing either? Any ideas?

Thanks as always

definately sounds like the battery disconect/reset. Not sure where they are on a V12V but on a DB9 it is under the rear seat on the drivers side. (Do V12V's have rear seats? never had a look around one)

Try locking car with remote then open it
Then try and start car
Is the start button lighting up?

Usual stuff - battery / batt disconnector etc..

The other thing is I'm guessing you may have a tracker fitted/activated?

May be the car has been immobilised when the battery went dead?

Just a thought

I may be well off track here - but is your floor mat getting trapped under the cluch, preventing you from depressing fully?

So the nice man from AA has just left.

The battery charger is dead. Although there were lights on it originally it was showing the condition of the battery as it discharged itself. At no point could it have ever charged anything. He tested the charger and there was no output to be seen. Genuine charger supplied new with the car. Will need to speak to dealer on that one.

The positive point under the bonnet was also missing the nut so a good connection couldn't be made. Found a nut, connected jump leads, hey presto. So chances are I'll need a new battery I guess now.

Thanks

Not necessarily - came back to my car to find it flat, jumped it safely and it's been fine ever since. The DB9 disconnects the battery before it discharges fully which keeps it alive.

Good long run of 45-60mins keeping revs over 1500rpm and see how it goes.

You definitely need a new charger though wink

Or try an Optimate 4 - they are good at recovering deep discharge batteries and also keeping them going when not in use.around £35 or so.

+1 it happeened on my old car, they do automatically cut the battery off if it gets very low.
