Just noticed there are a group of cygnets (a lamentation perhaps?) on the AM site. All with POA. Wondering whether that stands for Please Offer Anything?

I think it would be a good idea to have a competition of ideas for alternate uses for a Cygnet. Its obviously pointless as a car, but as the prices drop to nothing, perhaps there is a better use for them.

I want one. There - said it.

I could replace my Aygo with a Cygnet.

But at £5k, not >£30k...

I'll start the ball rolling with what to do with them.......How about converting them into fish tanks?

Or perhaps.....give them to the Armed Forces?

In Mako blue too?

I kind of have this Dr Evil, mini-me idea for a Cygnet.

My aygo is a very light blue as well, not a fancy multi-part flecked paint like Mako but similar enough...

I hear from an AM source that Cygnets are selling extremely well in Italy - viewed as a fashion accessory rather than a car.

Italy is bankrupt.

Berlusconni was probably using them as condoms smile

Bit of economics and politics.

I'd humbly submit that Italy is not bust. It has a well developed Government Bond market, high domestic demand for Government debt. It suffers from a failed political model and massive over regulation.

But the Italian real economy is excellent. What two bits of the AM V8S and V12V are praised? The Graziano gearbox and the Brembo brakes. No points to anyone pointing out Oerlikon own Graziano - I know.

If they can pass radical reform then they'll be ok. Monti is not in possession of a deomcratic mandate so he'll probably fail. They need a Maggie Thatcher type....

I buy a lot of Italian machinery each year and I'm pretty pleased with it. That aside, I would not advocate any country following the Italian model as espoused by recent governments. Unless of course you live in Zimbabwe or Haiti.

As for Maggie Thatcher....perhaps the wrong person. Italy is in a bad state but for different reasons to those of Britain in the 1970s.
