Considering a DB9 purchase and came across a couple of Le Mans Edition cars from 2008. From what I can see they are a special colour, bespoke interior and have sports pack, different grill and red painted calipers. Limited to 124 cars. Not sure whetehr that's UK or worldwide. Does anyone know? Also, has anyone see one in the flesh...trying to get a feel for the colour and impressions of the red sections on dash and doors.
I like the idea of something a bit different, but wondered how these are preceived. Very little information about them that I can find.

I presume it is this car you're on about - http://www.silverleafcars.co.uk/aston-martin-db9-p...
Looks fantastic imo, I love the red fascias and stitching. Not convinced it will be a future classic as stated in the advert. I think there were only 124 made throughout the world, not just the UK.
Does seem a tad expensive when you can get an MY09 car with sportpack and the extra 20bhp for only a few k more.

And this one which has less miles and a little cheaper:Looks fantastic imo, I love the red fascias and stitching. Not convinced it will be a future classic as stated in the advert. I think there were only 124 made throughout the world, not just the UK.

-1. Is priced correctly http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3203456.htm
Compared to the one I posted it is only a few k more and has the 470bhp and sports pack. Although it is an 08 reg instead of 09, we will call that one a draw

Ah fair enough, I was looking at DB9 LMs the other day and stumbled across that example I posted, never thought to look in the PH classifieds. That example seems more realistic pricing since it has quite a bit lower mileage.yeti said:
At least one has gone to the great Works Service in the sky - I have DB9 Le Mans wheels on my car from one that met it's demise in Northern Ireland
A nice special edition, espcially if you are a Le Mans fan, but I would pay the extra and get the 470bhp later car with Sports Pack.
So when do the later cars start...2009? Any other changes apart from 20bhp extra?A nice special edition, espcially if you are a Le Mans fan, but I would pay the extra and get the 470bhp later car with Sports Pack.
They only made 67 cars of the 124 planned. It was priced at £124k to match the number of planned build. The LM has the upgraded software on the TT box that went in to the 09 MY car and sports pack but not the power upgrade or interior central console. The car was fully loaded and was the first 9 to have clear rear lenses from the DBS, colour keyed polished alloys and bright magnum grills. The only option was black or tailors grey headlining. understand 2 cars have been written off so only 65 left. I believe 22 were uk registered. The cars colour scheme is fantastic in the flesh - no pictures can ever fo it justice. Still remember the day I picked mine up from the dealer covered over in the showroom with some concern having never seen the colour scheme . My undstanding from the factory is Sarthe Silver will never be used again remaining unique to the 9LM Can't imagine ever going in to the garage and it not being there.

Thanks for that. Good to hear from an owner. Particularly concerned about the red bits. I know red doesn't photograph well, but it looks quite 'loud' on some of the photo's. Hi there,
I haven't taken a look at the links yet, but one of these may well be my ex! No. 24?
I have literally just sold it - Monday, I believe it went to Grange? Mine had 20k miles, first two services at WS.
Silverspeed has given a good summary, and indeed he offered me some information which convinced me when i bought mine. But to add, they are great cars, as all DB9's are - with a few extra styling bits. Is it worth a premium? Yes maybe a little - interior is a bit like marmite - but I really liked it. Don't be put off by the red - it is not as red as the pictures suggest - consider it more like a glass of burgundy!
If it is of any interest, I sold mine simply becuse it used to kill my back - i should add, the car didn't cause the bad back, i have always had that, but at 6ft 1" , and lets say a large frame i found it a bit of a squeeze.
The colour is what really sells it and again pictures do not do it justice - keep it clean and in the sun it has an amazing red hue to the paint, but in poor light it looks a really bright grey.
If it is my car, and you would like any further info please PM me - happy to answer any questions you might have.
Thanks
Paul

Grange do have one that fits the description, but the ad' says number 26. I assume it's the same car. Pity I didn't post this a couple of weeks ago. Might have been able to do a mutually beneficial deal.I haven't taken a look at the links yet, but one of these may well be my ex! No. 24?

For info my supplying dealer told me if I didn't like the red when the car arrived they were quite easily changed. I actually think they make the car and are very different to the norm in a good way. Each to their own though colour schemes are very subjective.
That's a good point. I'd forgotton that. A friend changed the wood on the dash and door panels on a Volante for not much money.Gassing Station | Aston Martin | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
