That time of year for insurance again and whilst browsing the Adrian Flux link from PH I came across the RideDrive advanced driver training for performance cars.

Sort of thing I am intereseted in in any case, but I am wondering if anybody here has experienced this training at all and can comment on its usefulness in learning new skills, knowledge etc?

Highly recommended
They use local instructors to teach you in your car on your local roads.

First class - well worth it.

You can buy a day package and split it into 2 half days (recommended) so you can learn new skills, go away for a few weeks and practice and then come back to re-check how you got on.

They also did a special certificate worth 25% off your inusrance with Adrian Flux when I did it which has meant cheaper Flux insurance for me for the last few years (on 3 cars)...and I do cjheck their competitiveness regularly so it does work.

Drop me a PM if you want - I have a close personal friend who is one of the instructors I can put you in touch with - just for a chat if you want to know the ins and outs without committing yourself

I did a day with RideDrive a few years ago in my Cerbera. I'd say it was very useful for road driving. My instructor was a Police Class 1 driver and knew how to make progress without fuss and to overtake safely and often.

For car control I've done a number of sessions with Don Palmer in various cars and enjoyed them all. Apart from buying a new set of tyres afterwards. smile
