North circular last night. 1:30am.

Only one other car on the road.

Liberal application of loud pedal.

Glance up in rear view mirror. Flashing blue lights.

Oh dear.

Off the gas and hope to get slow quickly.

Blue lights approach at warp speed. And overtake and blast off.

RESULT!!!!

Nope! laugh. I had visions of the rear end of his Vantage being mm away from the central reservation after booting it on our nice slick autumnal roads. John? Put the car away in the garage (actually get your other half to do it just in case) and step away from the keys for the next few months.

She won't drive it. Well, I won't let her. I would let her drive a McLaren if I bought one due to all the technology but the V12V is a bit more of a monster...

I have been super reserved since it got back. I keep muttering under my breath "brake not clutch"...

I am quite close to following your advice. Have been thinking about winter wheels but I just don't have enough storage for the summer wheels and tyres so I think I will just put her away until Spring :-(

It's horrible having to just put the car away for a few months isn't it. I must admit I only have the V8 but it doesn't get used when icy/snowy etc. For the V12 I would have to completely lay it up. I know it's possible to use it all year round but from the very little experience I have of it (a test drive!) I wouldn't want to be using quarter throttle everywhere over the next few months.

I had a quick trip up the M1 with no drama at 5.30 this morning. No drama.

Best time for it I think - traffic at that time will be all southbound. I do love the J2 sweeping curve - always good to see what you can do on that section....
