Reading through some of the threads it would seem the first 1000 V8Vs made had better quality parts fitted to the engines. I'd be intrested to find out what these are if anyone knows.
Cheers.

Incidently mine was one of the first 340 made if it goes off the Vin number

I think if you post this into the Bamfird Rose thread (sticky at top), Mike will be able to help on this.

Ps. Do I recognise you from Mtorque or just coincidence?

Thanks Ill give it a go.
Yep I'm another one who went from an M3 to the V8V.
I was on Mtorque when it was still going and it was very informative. Shame it went but I suppose all good things must come to an end especialy when fighting big corperations.

In the end, BMW left Matt alone, but that fight killed his enthusiasm for the thing.

Yeh I'm not suprised. I was a contributor when it was M3Torque and followed the events as they went on. It was enough to drive any sane person mad.

ello ello wink Yeah - not surprised, never understood the motivation from BMW - I mean what a nightmare having 100's of people advocating and supporting your products for free? Never would have taken the jump to the E46 without you lot smile

Doh. Should have looked there first.
Thanks for that, I'll dig it out and have another read.

I saw the correspondence and I suspect BMW had very little to do with it. It was just a mid-market law firm being stupid. He wasn't doing anything wrong.

The AM was never on my radar until 3 years ago when I drove one at Thruxton, but at the time thought "nice - but I'll never be able to afford one" - a job hop and little hard work has now changed that smile

The hard bit is now finding a car that ticks all the boxes and me being in the UK to look - will be doing this in two weeks when I am at home. If I get really lucky, the roadster prices will be low enough for me!

It's not far off - the Gaydon AM's have the "it" factor the E46 has. Still remember my first full throttle run in the M - awesome smile

I've also had to suffer one of my neighbours shuffling up and down in the road in his V8 this year - taunting me wink
