V12V at Broughtons
Discussion
Afternoon.
I'm just wondering if anyone here has any knowledge of the V12 Vantage being advertised by Broughtons, http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3378108.htm
Any information on history etc. would be greatly appreciated. It's the colour and spec I want and I'm just about ready to make the leap in to dream car ownership.
Also, any words of wisdom from current V12 owners?
Many thanks in advance.
Mat.

Thanks for the input, it's bloody tempting.
There are a handful under £90k although this is the best colour and spec for me, there's a beautiful black 2009 on at the same price with a lot less miles but I vowed never to have a black car again, what a sod to keep clean.
I already know I should do it, just need to sort a deal I think.
Cheers

Right you are... Its been a while since I looked at the V12V's in the classifieds.... They really are stunning.... I love the extra length lip on the boot lid.. One of my customers had a V12V he had it for a couple of months from new and then sold it back to AM what a loss he must have taken...
If you can't have Hammerhead Silver, Quantum is the next best thing. It has all the bits looks great and good value. I have done 9000 miles in mine as of this morning and it still offers all the thrills and excitement as on the day when i took delivery exactly 2 years ago. These cars are fantastic so go and get it bought. It will be a keeper - they are that good.

Thanks for the comments, Clorenzen, it's good to hear that you still feel like that, the Porsche is ballistic but looses some of the rawness I am looking for, I think the Vantage is the machine for me.Antarctic Mat said:

One can learn an awful lot more about a car from the forum than the dealership will tell you. Possibly with the V12Vs the previous owner may be on here too!Shmee said:

Yes, thank you Shmee, exactly right.Of course I can ring the dealer, I'm already discussing the car! I was hoping the original owner might surface and then tell me lots of nice bits of information that the dealer may not be aware of.
B&O and carbon seats essential on a 2nd hand purchase. Lovely spec with polished grill, chrome tread plates and piano black. Only possible -'ve is the full alcantara on the seats - see if you like that or not (sweat factor...). I thought I would prefer the full alcantara but am glad I went with leather now. Just add a Quicksilver SuperSport and you are in the best car AML have ever made.

In what respect?I'm not saying the V12V is a bad car by any stretch of the imagination. In fact the complete opposite, they're fantastic, but they gets beaten in every single field by a different AM.
Looks - DB9 (imo) and Vanquish
Speed - Vanquish S / V8 V600 LM
Handling - V8VS
etc etc

Yes, it does have a decent spec, I agree on the alcantara, it doesn't wear the miles too well although it looks good in this. I find the leather in the Porsche slippery when pushing on though. The other colour I love is the Lightning Silver, I know it's a matter of taste but I really like the contrasting vents.
Any thoughts on dealer verses specialist? Obviously the warranty is a bonus.

Contrasting vents - yes please. The other colour I love is the Lightning Silver, I know it's a matter of taste but I really like the contrasting vents.

The car you are looking at is well within the original warranty, so no probs. Indeed, the cheapest ones are only just coming out of warranty. In which case the Dealer will be selling with a 1 year extension
