Hi guys, i'm looking at a V8 (Sportshift) with 7,000 miles , but the car had the clutch replaced at 3,500 miles and also on the warranty history it showed that it had a squakey belt.

After test driving the car i didn't notice anything unusual, apart of course of the clunky sportshift transmission.

Is that a reason to avoid buying the car?

Thanks

Hi, not sure why it would be? If the clutch was replaced, it could have been for a number of reasons - there were some faulty clutches which have been replaced under warranty. Again - if issues have been remediated I would not be worried, these are hand crafted cars high end cars, things can go wrong. If you are buying it with some AM warranty I would be pretty happy knowing it had a fresh clutch.

Car had fault -> fault cured.

Sounds like a good situation smile If it'd had two clutches I'd be worried there was an underlying problem, but it's been replaced and you hav a nearly-new clutch. Very nice.

My V8V had a new clutch after 2,000 miles. No drama. It was thought to be faulty from new.

I went on to have several thousand issue free miles motoring.

These things happen. If rectified without argument then not a problem in my eyes.
