I am on the lookout for a 2007 year model DB9 Volante TT between 2006 and 2007 in either Black,Dark Grey or Dark Blue with a Black piano facia and Black leather.Would maybe consider cream leather with Black or Blue.Mileage below 20k and either 1 or 2 owners.
I am in no rush and happy to wait so please bear me in mind in the future.
I have the cash available and will look to probably use it just as a weekend car.I would like clear lenses and the Red brake calipers but these can be added by Rick at DMS at a later date so not essential.
I work in Holborn and live in Bucks but will travel for the right spec car.
Please email me at t.tan@mach1couriers.com with pics and details if you have something that maybe fits the bill.
Thanks again for all the help and advice over the past couple of weeks.

Have you stuck a 'wanted' ad in the classifieds? It's how I sold my TVR back in the day, so it does work.

Good luck with your search, you should have no worries.

yes

Quite a few fit the bill - one especially below 20k miles.

Depends on the budget obviously smile

This one looks fantastic imo, but it is ever so slightly over on mileage.

Have done all the cars that are up for sale at present at all the Aston dealers.
One I was interested in was a Black one at Broughtons AM in Cheltenham but the 39k miles is off putting.
I have put an enquiry in on the Blue one but feel I would only be interested around £55k for that one.
Pricewise I don`t think I should need to spend more the £55k for a 2006/2007 model at this time of year even from a main dealer let alone private.
By the way knocking 10% off the asking price at the main dealers is not getting me the cold shoulder on the higher mileage cars so my haggling skills have yet to be extended.

i would not be put off by mileage....if the car has good history etc and is well looked after , a higher mileage car will give you fewer problems....than a garage queen...

Worth and ask and he'll try and spource one for you. Great guy, and incredibly helpful! Chiltern would only get you a top notch car as well.

Spoke to an Aston Martin service manager who advised me to wait for a lower mileage car to come along as the higher mileage cars can run up costs of £5/£7k pa if used a fair amount.I know I will run up minimum mileage but the man has looked after my DB7 for a few years and never let me down.
I just have that impatient want it now bug which is frustrating as there is nothing in the spec I want unless I spend £75k.
Still, patience is a virtue and I will have to sit on my hands rahter than rush out and buy something that fits only 75% of the bill.
Just got my AM definitive guide so plenty of bog reading material there.

That really does fly in the face of everything that is known about these cars on this forum. A few miles and a few services make a better car than a garage queen. I wouldn't buy a 90k miler owned by a track day experience compnay but would have no issues parting with money for a 40-50k mile car if it was reflected in the price and had an impeccable history.

Did he quantify why the bills magically rise? I understand that if you need a clutch, 4 tyres, brake discs and pads and a service all at the same time you could run up a big bill and you would obviously find a car that didn't need this work done! But £7k per annum on a car just because a car has been used regularly? He's having a giraffe.

I must say I thought these cars were designed to be used more as an everyday car than say the DB7.
Saying that I did look at a 56 plate 17k mile London car that had every alloy kerb around the whole circumference, scratches and a dig on the front bumper with an interior that looked worse than my BMW 80k workhorse.Described as immaculate by the way.
Still I will bide my time and wait for the right car with the right spec to come along.
Love reading peoples varying opinions though.

Good evening,I have been lurking for a while and apreciate the wit, wisdom and general banter/intelligence of the pipe and slipper brigade and obviously the rest of you!. Like the OP, I have been waiting, since May, to find a blue, 2007 + MY, DB9 with about 20K on the clock.

Do these cars exist?

We both work in the same part of smoke but I live in Hampshire, so I could imagine both our requirements being met.

Giz a clue!

Fair enough, I suppose some people just don't treat their belongings well! The cars that come to meets, turn up to events or go to shows are usually immaculate regardless of miles, and some have done a lot of miles. It isn't something that has to make the car look shabby but that example sounds like a shed!

The DB9 is a long, wide car, I can see how alloys could get kerbed when trying to park in tight London spaces. The owner was at fault for describing it as immaculate, time-waster!

Agreed - it's not a big job if you're selling it! Although claiming its 'immaculate' is more knobbish I'd say...

Anyway we are digressing....

Can you boys put the word out and find me a car please.

I have started reading my DB9 bible and with all the excitement my wallet is getting even more twitchy.

Thanks for all the help again and must say the forum here is just as helpful as the TVR forum was when I had my Griff.(I am sure that will start a new thread)

ps Is it true the 2007 cars are unrestricted to 186mph!!!!!!

If it is just 'restricted' in the first place, I assume it can be de-resticted with a software update? Hit 165mph in my DB7 more than once, it made me sad that that was it frown

It changed into top gear (TT1) at 160mph, such a very cool car.
