After a few comments a while ago when I posted on here regarding changing the wheels on my Vantage, I decided to not bother messing with an already amazing looking car with aftermarket tat... And to some extent I do agree with a lot of people when it comes to some mods....

That was until I was browsing the wonderful web and found these.... Vorsteiner VS-340

Coupled up with a set of H&R lowering springs.....MMMMMMMM I cant stop thinking about anything else....

I sort of dont care how much they cost... They are a must have.... And as soon as they get back to me with all the costs... Long card number, start date and last 3 on the back.. biglaugh

Check out the pics cloud9

Am I the only one who thinks these really are a worthy set of new shoes for the vantage??????

Oh, I like those a lot. That top picture makes that car look epic. 19s or 20s?

What width tyre could you get on the rear? Group buy? wink

Edit: A quick google says they're 20s. Love the offset as well!

Double Edit: If you're in contact, ould you ask for weights? If they are lighter than 19" sports pack wheels, I could kind of justify them...

EPIC... I agree with that... LOL...

20" I am up for a group buy!! Not sure on tyre sizes yet, am still waiting for an email back from Vorsteiner...

They are concaved wheels, give the car that agressive stance that it really does need... And from ehat I was told by an importer earlier they are lighter than the standard wheels (19")...

I will let you know when they get back to me...

Not om;y do the wheels really suit the car, Ilike the sublte changes on the side vents to black along with dechroming the window trim....

They're okay but there's nothing new about them....

Copied from a 2003 M3 CSL

And it's funny that you should say this

Because that's also a 3 series BMW option.
Google 'High Gloss Shadow Line'

Me thinks it's an M3 in disguise.......

They look fantastic on the CSL (the only time anyone has wound down a window and complimented my on just the look of my wheels was in my CSL). The ones on the Aston above have seven double spokes, whereas the CSL wheels have eight.

On a 996, anything will look crap, because 996s look crap (unlike 993s and 997s and pretty well any other 911).

Not trying to burst your bubble burntout, just thought you should know that it's a BMW based wheel that's all.

If something gets under your skin for long enough then there's usually only one solution....buy 'em! wink

And how long was it before BMW turned a blind eye and stopped asking for chassis numbers to buy them? wink

Once they introduced the M3 CS, although they still claimed the CSL wheels were different.

You're absolutely right, ignore me burntout, but there's no denying the resemblance and the source of the overall design.

Hmm, I'd have been happier with a similarly lame statement from them concerning Estoril on the M3 being 'different' to the Estoril they offered as a no cost option on the 'sport' 3 series edition, but that wasn't forthcoming either.....

Anyway, I digress

Your dead right....

They are very similar.. Im a big fan of the CSL and think that its mainly down to the styling... Wheels etc.. Come to think of it, were they the 1st manufacturer to release a car with concaved wheels??

And looking at Vorsteiners web site they mainly produce wheels for german cars, Mercs and BMW's etc... Just gald they decided to dabble with the Astons...

So if you have a Vantage running on 18 or 19 inch wheels and you rip and replace with 20 inch wheels do you get really low profile tyres to maintain the rolling diameter, recalibrate the speedo or do you just drive round with an inaccurate speedo.

With regard to the wheels, nice. But in that photo I am a fan of the black side strakes. Mine should arrive on Wednesday. And de-chrome looks good provided it's replaced by something sensible.

Imo they look absolutely awful. I can't understand why anyone would put aftermarket wheels on a car, it just makes it look cheap to me.

There are so many aftermarket wheels that look awful, I'd generally agree with the last 2 comments. However, I believe both are by pipe and slippers types, so I don't! I think these rims look superb on the Vantage; they look a bit like a development of these http://www.comp.co.uk/wheels/popup.asp?wheel=5 which I ran on my race car.

You really need to find out the OEM weights and dimension and the same for these.
Then have a play with this!

http://www.1010tires.com/wheeloffsetcalculator.asp

Unsprung weight saving is a great idea, don't get seduced in to heavier wheels for the looks though wink

I think they look great. If you like them, get them! Don't see why you must stick to a design chosen by someone else. As they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

Pages 10 and 19 of the photo thread are worth a look. Two cars seem to be wearing these or similar .
