Hi, I've been running Pirelli PZero Corsa System tires on my V8 Vantage (2006) for several years, but now both Pirelli and my dealer are no longer able to supply the custom AM8 version of these tires. I've been told they are no longer being produced even for special orders. What is the recommended alternative?

I know that the Bridgestone Potenza S001 and Yokohama Advan Sports are available in the same size and load rating as the Pirelli PZero Corsa, but they are not specifically approved for the V8 Vantage...and I refuse to go back to the standard Bridgestone Potenza RE050 because they are noisy, I don't need run-flats, and it hardly ever rains in Dubai.

Of course, I could ask my dealer...but I know what their response would be and it won't be very helpful.

I have just got a set of Pirelli trofeo which i have 245/35/19 front and 265/35/19 on the back.
They have truely amazing grip but are a track bias tyre for sure. dont think they last long but if you are in Dubai weather wise they are perfect. have a look at this. http://www.pirelli.com/tyre/ww/en/motorsport/sheet...

Sorry about the run flats comment...had just finished a conversation about run-flats with a colleague at lunch when I posted this question.

Basically, it appears that the only two "approved" tire options for the V8 Vantage are the Bridgestone Potenza RE050A-AM9 and the Pirelli PZero Corsa System AM8 (discontinued). Anything else and you're taking a risk (albeit a slight one) of experiencing less-than-ideal handling.

I guess I'll be going back to the Potenza RE050A...which is not going to be fun after several years of enjoying the extra grip and better braking distance offered by the PZero Corsa. frown
