Get rid if my v8v after just one month?
Discussion
It's Sunday, my wife daughter and I are off out for lunch but we're taking the family 4x4 and not the Aston. I bought the v8v because I feel it looks and feels much sportier than the db9. But now I wonder if I should've bought a db9 after all - I'd probably use it more because my daughter (4 yrs old) would be be able to get in the back. That being said, I took my daughter to the dealership to try out the back of a db9 and it was TIGHT. As such I resolved it was pointless thinking I'd actually use the back seats (my wife grumbled about sticking her in the back of a 911)...I wonder now if it's worth having them, forsaking the sporty look of a v8v and accepting that it'll be a squeeze but at least we get to all go out in something funkier that the 4x4??? I'd lose money on the (re)trade in, is it worth it? Btw my wife and I are both about 5'6.
It was never bought as a family car (obviously). I see that my post reads a bit like nonsense. I don't feel i want a GT or sports saloon. I'm still just 37 and want a fun car but there seems to be so little out there to choose from (coming from a 997) so got the car my heart wanted (and my pocket could afford) - the v8v. I guess I'm waiting for someone to pipe up and tell me it's ok to be 37 and own a db9 or rapide :-)

Well I'm 37 and I have a DB9! Get a manual car, maybe a sports pack equipped one at that and it'll handle as well as the Vantage unless you're on the Top Gear test track driving like an arse where it might be 2% less accomplished. It'll also be a LOT more powerful and torquey.
Sure, there's a (very) few more kg, a slightly taller, heavier engine but they're on the same chassis, brakes and so on. The DB9 can be made to handle more like the Vantage with a few small tweaks. It was set up to waft, it can be changed to drive far more aggressively if that's what you want without any other compromise.
It'd be a killer to lose some money after only a month, but if you bought from AM they might help you out... You can only ask!
Have you tried a Rapide? If you haven't be prepared to have any preconceptions blown away.
Two more seats to share the joy of ownership with. A beautiful V12 engine with adaptive suspension and room for loved ones in the back.
Pre owned Rapides with a few thousand on the clock seem more realistically priced than new....
Can you tell that i've got the itch? ;)......

The Vantage was not designed as a family car. Why would you expect it to perform as one? And if you are driving it correctly, probably should not have a little one in it anyway. :-)
I thought child seats with a multi-point harness were invented for this purpose :-)No, not the harness. Until you have child #2, you could use her as the hood ornament
Ahem.......could we please keep this thread on track !!!!
Slarti you big jessie. When you bought the V8V were you not aware that it was a 2 seater ?? Had your wife failed to inform you about your long lost 4 year old ??
As for thinking you are too young for a DB9 or Rapide.....ownership of these cars is not age-dependant mate but does require a much higher sophistication level
