Hi all AM gurus.

A friend of mine is looking at getting his first AM. he was looking at the baby AM Vantage but has been put off by the lack of rear seats. Next stop is a DB9 but can't seem to get a concencus on whether or not it cam with a Manual Gearbox as he would prefer.

I'm not personally aware of a DB9 Manual, can anyone confirm this please?

Thanks

Yes it did but there aren't many of them about. Most of the ones for sale will be Touchtronic. I know there's at least one person on here that has a manual but I can't remember who it is.

Edit: Here's one - http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3295801.htm

Thanks for that!!

Just to be a pain, were they only made in specific years, or were they an option throughout?

Your right though, been looking and can't see one for sale anywhere and for some time!

The manual is brilliant, I have an ever rarer manual Volante, it is a superb gearbox and really suits the car. Especialy with a few mods...

Get home to try and find on with Sports Pack fitted, they come up frequently even though quite rare. There are a lot of DB9s about!

it seems many of the manual cars have the sports pack.......think the wheels are great .....almost worth the extra smile

The wheels look much better than the standard ones. Definitely worth the extra. More to the point, the car handles better.

I didn't look at all! I thought you didn't get a manual DB9, hence the post. He said he put an advanced search on PH for a manual and none came up.

Rear seat size is not an immediate concern as he has a 2 year old, but want's to be able to put a child seat in the back.

I've never had the privilage of being inside a DB9, so I'm not aware of how small the leg room is! Do they not work even with the front seats well forward (I'm a short arse and so is he, so the seat would be well forward!)?

" A few mods..."?

What does the Sportpack consist of?

Cheers

Not sure about child seats or boosters, but my lanky 10 year old and 6 year old comfortably sit in the passenger seat and behind. The 10 year old can still fit behind an adult in the passenger seat for short journeys and for really short journeys we can squeeze all four of us in (though not comfortably as I am 6ft)

Be careful. Someone from the child protection agency may read that biggrin

Thanks for that! Even at a short 5'8" then I could manage a reasonable journey in the back then!

lets face it.....the DB9 has less room in the back seats than a Smart car
