They have a red V8V and a blue V12V in the second episode. I'm watching it now.
Here's a still from it.
What is the blue called that the V12V is painted in? Looks fantastic, not so sure on the white bits though. Here's a still from it.
Is Top Gear USA as I imagine it - the latest in a long line of the US taking the best British shows and ruining them?

Indeed. Top Gear USA sucks balls and will never be a replacement for the real deal. They try so hard to imitate the original show that it makes you wonder why they bothered at all.mikey k said:
Just watched the first episode of Top Gear US
You know the format Not quite as "entertaining" as the UK one though
But by way of a heads up they are testing the new Vantage S next episode
BBC 3 21/10/11 @ 7 PM
Mikey, what season and episode number would the "S" review be in? The V12 was season 1 episode 2 which I believe aired here about a year ago. You know the format Not quite as "entertaining" as the UK one though

PS one of the things I can't stand about the show is how they have to explain everything to our American audience, like who the Stig is, every time he comes on.
What I don't like about the show is that they don't really review the cars or tell you much about them except maybe how much horsepower they have. In part this is because they are trying to appeal to a very wide audience, but it's also because, with the exception of Tanner, the guys know very little about cars. Another Top Gear knock-off in the States is The Car Show. I'm not a fan of the host, Adam Corolla, but at least the presenters know something about the cars they feature.
I believe the color of the blue V12 Vantage is Elwood Blue. An AMOC member had a V12V that color at Limerock this past July. The first V12V that Aston Martin brought to the US was also this color. I remember them saying that the car was a European spec and not legal to drive on the street here. I think the color was also one of the special colors for the N420.

If you look at the Top Gear USA video, it seems to corroborate your statement that this is the European spec car because it had the lightweight carbon fiber seats which are not available in the US. Henry
The cretin with the beard is a weapons grade bell end. Manages to be a bigger coq than Clarkson, which is some achievement.
Not wholly sure why we have to put up with American xenophobia on a car programme - it's bad enough when it happens on the UK version. Presumably this isn't costing anything from the allegedly already stretched license fee?

US Top Gear is truly embarrassing. In that V8V vs V12V "comparison," among other offenses, they held a drag race. We all know that the V12 is quicker, but they clearly launch the V12 well before the V8 starts to move. And then they announce, as though it's a surprise, that the V12 is quicker. Shockingly bad show.
