I have a big problem that i hope a family DBS/DB9 owner can help with. I am on the verge of getting the car and the deal is hanging by a thread - or a baby seat really- as i need to get my 9 month old a forward facing seat that will fit and that he will grow into over the next 3 years. The dealer reccommended seat doesnt fit and this will turn into a complete F@@@ up if i cant find one. It must be a problem encountered before -PLEASE HELP !

Don't worry i'm sure there is one! I saw a DBS at the weekend with a baby seat in the back which seemed to fit quite well.
Unfortuantly I don't know what make it is/who the owner is, but there is one out there!
I'm sure someone will come along in a bit with the name.

I used a Britax DuoFix in the back of my DB9.

This one:

It was the only Group 1 seat I could find that would fit.

Cheers Zod , is the back of a DB9 the same as a DBS? I assume it is very similar. Does your child have enough space for their legs ? out of interest how old are they and is their room to grow into it?
many thanks

The rear seats are the same. My son could sit behind me (with my seat adjusted somewhat further forward than usual) up to about 20 months. He had to have his legs folded a little as he grew larger, but that's not a problem at that age. My other son, then four, sat behind my wife in a MaxiCosi Rodi XR.

The ideal position is to have just one child in the car seated behind the passenger.

Now my sons are two and a half and five and a half and it just didn't work any more. We also added a daughter, so I gave up and bought a two-seater instead. Now just one at a time comes with me. biggrin

Thanks for that , but could he dangle his legs down ? or is it so tight on space he couldnt . And did you have the seat all the way forward while he was in the car?

Don't wish to be a killjoy but kids do not work well in the back of a DB9 ......ok for very occasional use but that's it.....Masers are better at accommodating children on a regular basis.....Most of us with children run a second /third car.

The younger boy couldn't dangle his legs down, but that was a leg length issue - until their thighs are long enough to allow the knees to bend at the seat edge, it will never work. The elder one had his feet down the gap.

I got about 18 months of being able to drive four-up.

Of course it would never be your only car. I don't think anyone has ever proposed that.

In my DB9, I could never sit a child behind me, because there was ZERO space between the back of my seat and the rear seat cushion edge. And I could never drive with the seat in any position other than at its most rearward. The only way a child would fit would have been behind the passenger seat (with a smallish passenger).

Another relevant factor to take into account is your height, I am 5'9 and have managed a school run with an 11 and a 12 year old in the back with enough room for all 3 of us to sit. I did have to but the seat a little more upright than I would normally have it but not terribly so.

Bet your kids think you're legend for dropping them off at school in the Aston. I still cringe thinking about my mum dropping me off in her cherry red (faded pink) Skoda Rapide with captain kirks trousers velour seats.
Anyway, as you were...

Just make sure you get the seatbelt securing it as tight as you possibly can.
