I may have missed it but has anybody on the forum been brave enough to both buy and admit to buying a cygnet yet - if so what's the feedback ?

A friend of mine has one, I'm hoping to be taken for a spin in a few days... I'll report back but he loves the reactions from people!

I think I am the lone voice on here that would buy one at the right price. And current list price is not the right price.

I paid about £5k for an Aygo. The iQ is a nice little station/shops car. I'd probably go to £8k for a cygnet.

I was up at Lotus Murrays (which is next to the RR and Aston dealer) and i got to admit that it looks great from inside and the only change i'd make is taking the badge off the front as apart from the fact it looks tacky, it really is to big for car.

Again price is way off, i think it was up for 31k but if it was say more like 18 i'd choose it over a mini et al as a city run around.

Really? I doubt he'll say that in a few months, wiping vomit off your car must get frustrating eventually.

I'd buy one for the right price, and if I lived in a city (which I hope never to do). Would be pretty cool having it in matching spec to a proper Aston.

They could have based it on something so much better than that dire little Toyota though. Maybe a Audi A1/Polo etc. Would have been more useable, faster, better looking etc. 12 seconds to 60 sleep

I shouldn't be driving on the motorway at over 70, yet I do that all the time biggrin

Oh, no, you are quite wrong.

There are special lanes for driving fast but they are only available for busy people or business people. Since "Busy or business lane" takes up too much space they are just market as "Bus. Lane"...

Having just bought a 8 month old Mini for town driving, a fully Spec'ced Mini is over £26k! Not that I paid that. Full leather, more kit / toys than the Cygnet. Its a Cooper S so got more power (actually doesn't feel much slower than the S2000 I had), so can be used quite happily on motorways.

It had!
Only 4k on the clock. Low on VED and the best fuel consumption of anything we've owned in over 10 years!

No didn't want to buy an expensive one! wink
Its a Cooper S with the semi auto box - which is rare in itself + loads of extras, some of which aren't useful - voice activated commands for the Satnav. You need the manual on your lap to know the voice commands - total wasts of money

So basically nobody on here has bought one ?

Sounds like they are having a sales nightmare - Bez has said he is not happy with sales and thinks the problem is that they are an impulse buy but people have to wait because there are not enough at dealers! Spot of wishful thinking there I suspect though he probably has half a point.
The only way out of this hole is to go electric and offer something really different to our Astons -but he better get a move on or being electric will be old hat
