Deal to be had 2006 V8 Vantage
Discussion
Guys & Girls,
I have been offered a extra incentive on my new car if I can commit to paying a deposit & picking it up this weekend or next.
With this in mind your thoughts & feedback on my advert are appreciated as if I can sell sooner rather than later a good deal could be had by all as I will pass on half of the saving I am making on my new purchase.
With the extra incentive I have been offered on the new car a further deal can be had on the price that I have advertised.... Question is should I reduce the value on the advert or just negotiate when someone enquires?
Apologies if this seems like shameless self advertising but having just spent a good sum of money on warranty & servicing I refuse to let a dealer benefit... Plus I really want the new car.
Thanks in advance for your feedback, happy to answer any questions
Sorry jockman managed to forget the link.
The one posted by krisdelta is correct.
Any feedback other than getting some better pictures uplifted is welcomed.
I have got my eye on a v12v so need to get this one sold.
I had originally planned for the wife to have it but she has said that she won't drive it so no point keeping it in the garage as I won't use it if all goes well with the new car.

Hi Mike,
My 2 cents on the ad.
1) Great looking car: ETA - removed comment about "better pictures"
2) The current price is £1500 more than this one, from a dealer http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3201999.htm - it's a few months older, but broadly similar and with back-up of a dealer supply
3) There are one or two nice looking '07 MY cars at this price point.
4) Detailed description is spot on, I can't think of anything else that someone would want to ask.
Personally, (having just sold my mint M3 and gone through this!) - in the current market - aggressive pricing is needed to attract buyers. There are a number of V8V's in the £36-£42k price bracket that have been advertised for months - if you can offer it at less, you'll more likely generate results in the current climate.
Good luck with the sale!
Cheers
Kris

Thanks Kris. I searched through the filter twice and it didn't bring up Mikes advert!
Very comprehensive advert Mike, ticking a lot of positive boxes (pictures aside).
This car will sell - of that there is very little doubt - and it has been looked after correctly.
Getting the right price, within the correct timeframe will be the challenge. As Krisdelta suggests, you are in a very competitive segment.
Would be interesting to know how far off the Dealer's px offer was. Has he tweaked figures for a 'final offer'? The last time I asked suddenly the differential payment was reduced by £3k.
Please bear in mind that depreciation is your real enemy here. Standing still is not an option.
Good luck matey

If it was me looking at your car (and I think we discussed it a few months back?) the only thing that would put me off is the wheel colour. Sounds daft but I would save the hassle and buy one where everything was perfect therefore it were me i'd put it high up in the advert that you are willing to change them...... Apart from that looks a great car!
I'm currently haggling with an Aston dealer over a similar spec/year/mileage car. The reason I'm haggling is obvious:
These cars have dropped a grand in the book in the last month (aug-sept)
These cars will drop heavily over the next 2 months (all premium sports cars will)
These cars are booking at 29.5 max so I know the spread.
I have cash to buy & no part exchange so I feel I can chance my luck on offering them on a quick turn around on that car.
Apart from all that it's all good
Though to be honest their car is cheaper than yours, feel free to pm mate

I didn't realise the book values had dropped that low - but even the main dealer prices are dropping off now, I think there will be stunning deals to be done at the end of October as the scale of the current world economic climate becomes clear. However, if you are selling to trade up, you should win overall. E.g. 10% off each transaction is a reduced cash to change overall from the position 3 months ago.

Don't pm anybody who has never met you and calls you "mate"These cars have dropped a grand in the book in the last month (aug-sept)

Thanks for all the feedback so far guys, glad to hear that the advert has all the required info.
Happy to look at the pricing element it's just really difficult to gage as I didn't want to advertise at a lower price and then have people still looking to knock down on the price!?
Bitter pill to swallow selling the v8 having just invested a good sum of money getting it in tip top shape but I guess that is the fun of prestige cars.
I would much rather see a ph member see the benefit of my investment rather than a franchised dealer. I have had a number of calls from dealers offering to purchase with a view of selling between £40-42k however the idea of the making upwards of £4k without any prep work just dosent seem fair.
I seriously feel that there are some cracking deals out there on prestige cars at present and expect that prices will firm up again once the economy has settled a little as it did back in 2008/09
Any more feedback is welcomed and happy to answer any questions.
