BAMFORD ROSE - V8 Vantage Developments
Discussion
Hi All,
Thought I'd start a new thread on Bamford Rose as had the pleasure of visiting their premises yesterday.
I was up there to drop off my Vantage 4.7 as am having BR's 4-1 exhaust manifold fitted.
This will "complete the jigsaw" as already have Milltek Sports Cats and rear exhaust fitted (transferred over from my previous 4.3), plus a new air intake system c/o TDI.
(I'll be posting up comment on all these after this upgrade...)
Good to finally meet Mike.
He certainly knows his stuff (unsurprising really given his umpteen years as an Aston employee) and was happy to sit and discuss BR's development plans in detail.
More importantly he answered all my questions and showed a genuine passion for the marque.
I certainly feel my car's in safe hands!
A bonus to my visit was being taken for a blindingly fast trip round the local country lanes in the now famous (infamous?) "Jessica" - Pommehogster's fully BR'd Vantage.
After a careful drive to get everything nicely up to temperature, Mike finally let her loose and I distinctly remember my first words rhymed with "BUCK ME" !!
Now my 4.7 (with mods as stated) is now searingly quick but I have to concede that Jessica is a number of rungs up the proverbial ladder..
The car absolutely sings to the redline and pick up from idle is astonishigly quick.
Torque is in a different league to a base 4.3 and a distinct step up from the standard 4.7.
In fact the numbers Mike quotes have it nudging closer to V12V levels!
If anyone is considering upgrading from the former to the latter then I'd urge you to get yourself up to BR sharpish. I'm not sure how much longer Pommehogster's pride and joy is up there but you won't forget the experience!!
I'll be commenting on my solitary manifold upgrade in due course....
Hoping for at least another 15 horses.
Best,
SLINC

I am glad you enjoyed the ride. Mike said you popped in for a chat and he took you out. He's not to shabby at driving! you get a real feeeling of what the cars are capable of. She really is a lot of fun. I cant wait to get her back with the brake and suspension upgrades.
