Profit for Aston Martin

US market booming

America became Aston Martin's biggest market for the first time last year. Despite the weak dollar parent company Ford are dedicated to continuing with exports to the market and to building the brand stateside.

The DB9 will be launched in the US in September and is expected to take 1000 of the 2000 cars built next year. Sales of 5,500 cars are targeted for 2006.

John Walton, head of AM's sales and marketing operation in the US recently told the Financial Times that Aston expect to return a profit on Ford's investment this year.

Glad to hear things are picking up for AM. The DB9 will definitely sell well in the US. I'll still be waiting for the V8 Vantage though.

I've heard of raiding the parts bin for switches, but a Ford Puma for the whole back end.........?

....and what look like Jaguar XK8/R headlights.

I assume the production version will mirror the concept car in the lights department?

Glad to hear Aston are doing so well in the States though
