Where do we think the bottom will be for the V8 Vantage?

Just wondering what collective wisdom is on this topic. Looking at other Astons (like the DB7), I reckon a good V8 Vantage coupe will settle around £20k. I am interested in this because, at some point, all depreciation is done and then you only have running costs - which are not bad on these cars really.

The trouble with your theory is that

1. As the car gets older it becomes far more expensive to maintain as bits wear out
2. As a percentage of its value the maintenance costs become ridiculous....a 7 year old Vantage could face 5k maintenance bills i.e. 25% of its value
3. The car may only cost 20k but the bits to repair and maintain it are for a 95k car.....very expensive

there is the same number of them for sale as 997 Turbos on the 2nd hand market, so Im tempted to say they will follow those prices fairly accurately.

dont be offended when I say, but in London there are doezens of them on the road, as soon as the shape changes, they will all vanish up north. dont forget the DB7 is now a very affordable car and wasnt as popular.

Not offended at all - but have to say I rarely see them (in the City too).

So that's where they are! I can go a full year without seeing another Aston here in the North East but I regularly see porche 911 type cars.

This will be a supply and demand thing and my tuppence worth is that if the Vantage is seen as a reliable car then demand will be maintained, keeping the prices up. Plus the cost of a new one will rise too - will that effect second hand prices?

Forgot to say that I cant see 5k maintenance bills EVERY year (ANY year?). Engine and gearbox seem very good/strong. From what I've read, I'd expect to have to change the clutch 'early-ish' and would go for a lightweight flywheel/dual plate clutch if/when that happens, buts that only £2-3k. Apart from that, what can go so wrong that its £5000?
Mine is about to go from 7k miles/year to 2k. At that rate, 10 years old it will have done 35,000 miles (bogies has done 60,000). Lastly, this is my first Aston but they seem way more reliable than I expected.
