As some may recall I had tyre puncture issues a couple of weeks ago. Finally sorted with a replacement and a large hole in the wallet.
Last week my OH who parks his Audi behind mine to give an element of protection, finds a very large screw in nearside rear tyre. Same as mine.
I used my car over the weekend no problems.
Moved it yesterday to clean, all ok.
Reversed off drive this morning, and warning light comes on, same tyre, nearside rear which has just been replaced. I limped to my local guy , and yep, bloody big screw in tyre.
Apart from the expense, we are talking £1,200 plus including the Audi, its starting to look a bit too coincidental. Three bad punctures in as many weeks give or take, all in the same tyre(across both cars).

Am I being paranoid?

If not, then what can I do? Don't fancy sitting up all night or getting CCTV.

Pee'd off and skint, the only good thing is that thanks to advice here I got my previous plugged tyre stored at the repairer and it is now back on my car awaiting another new one.

IMHO it does sound a little too coincidental, did happen on Migs mini a couple of years back.

Have a screw in the the side wall of nearside front took it in and had both fronts replaced as treads were getting low, one week later screw in same nearside front side wall! another new tyre required.

Now the only difference that I can see is that on both occasions I was at "H" factory and the place does get a smattering of screws in the car park.

Lets hope you don't have anymore punchers, if you do I would go down the CCTV route. smile

Now that is a pain frown
I'd hazard a guess at unlucky or a building site close to you not cleaning up the road?
If I were to do something like this on purpose I'd damage the side wall so it couldn't be repaired wink Though that presumes any arse going this was intelligent enough to consider that frown
Maybe some sort of tamper indication around the cars might be useful?

Not if I wanted to make it look like an accident though, Mikey.

We have a retired Indian doctor living next door to us who can't stop throwing things over the hedge. Stones on the lawns and rusty nails on our gravel drive are his speciality. It's been going on for over five years, with a worrying increase in the number of nails appearing on the gravel since I bought the DB9 eighteen months ago. Every morning I have to carry out a "runway inspection" before driving, which can be a pain. The police can't do anything without evidence from an independent witness and that is very unlikely due to high hedges, bushes and trees. I just hope he doesn't discover B&Q galvanised tacks!!!

Have you thought about tyre insurance, got it for the wife's Beemer as it has runflats, they have paid out a few times due to pot hole and kerbing issues, has been the best insurance we have had! http://www.car2cover.co.uk/Tyre-Insurance

you are only skint because you keep letting them talk you into replacing perfectly good repairable tyres... Cancel the order for a new one and keep that plugged tyre on until it runs out of tread!

Odds of screw in the same tire on two different cars in such a short period? Highly unlikely that it is by chance.

I had 5 in the space of 6 months last year, 4 on the rear left, 1 on the rear right, I never understood it and then the stopped and it's been 9 months since my last. I don't know how that helps but you aren't alone frown

We had two in short succession, then (fingers crossed) nothing, so may just be bad luck... but a fourth would be worth some initial cheap counter action......

Actually on my cycle into work this morning I saw a nail in the road and I stopped to pick it up and remove it!
