Just picked up a rather nice VW Golf R 32 for my daytime pleasure......goes like stink and great fun to drive.....very close snappy 6 speed box........fantastic quality feel to the cabin, much better than that crappy 3 series stratstone lent me a couple of weeks ago........Aston has a small oil leak again, Alan from Stratstone has arranged collection on Monday, my last claim under warranty !

You'll soon get tired of the uber-smooth gear changes, every tom dick and harry that wants a race, oh and the road tax charge for a Golf!

Yes, I still have the T-shirt wink

Michael it will be sad to see you now migrate over to the German Forums....what am I to do with the list ??

Did you say oil leak? Now I understand why you keep it under warranty permanento. Good luck with the fix smile

Yep it's the normal chain cover leak.......it's very small and you would never know about it as it drips onto the trays.......it was picked up at the service a few weeks ago.......I'm now out of warranty

Yes £460 road tax for the Golf
£260 for the Aston
A little irritating ......but it's only money
It's been an expensive week......bought some art on Thursday.....new car on Friday.......and worse is to come.....off to comet for a new tumble dryer today......o the excitement !!

Have a VR6, they're reliable... about all I can say really, not nearly as fast as it should be. Would like a punt in an R32, I like the looks, the classier end of hot hatches certainly.

Semi-replaced it (i.e. still have both) with a 3.2 V6 Alfa GT, it is not reliable but it is nicer to drive IMHO, feels a bit more special for a runabout.

Hey Michael

I came from an R32 before the vantage. I was sad to see it go and would love to get one again some time down the road. It never missed a beat and was just awesome in the wet and had the most wonderful V6 growl, Hope you got the deep blue colour.. All the best and enjoy, don't forget to find a carpark when the ice and snow comes to have a little spin around :-)

Agreed - nice meaty looking cars with a nice exhaust note - which colour did you go for?

I actually had to read the plate a few times to work out what relevance the plate was to the car......it's very poor! Get rid ASAP!

thanks Yeti......bit more fun than the Honda Civic Diesel.....not sure about the Recaro seats fitted to this car which I belive were a £2800 option, but they sure grip hold of you.....engine is sweet though

As it turns out; not a colour at all. Just a different shade of grey. sleep
Otherwise a fine choice IMHO; other then the number plate which is shockin in'it

Actually, it's more of an anthracite than a grey or silver.
