It's not called a 'Road Traffic Accident' anymore, it's a Road Traffic Collision.

And that's just what happened to me today :-(

A rather unpleasant man drove into the back of my car. I was stopped at a set of traffic lights. I could see it about to happen in my rear view mirror.

Then, he drives off.

I called cops and ambulance and had my car recovered on a low loader.

Off to Newport Pagnell for repairs next week...

New rear bumper, diffuser and assorted bits and bobs. With the price of parts and respray I expect about £12,000.

Cops ran the reg in the computer and it's not reported stolen. The lovely WPC handed me a form with his name and insurance details.

All under control.

Hi John, sorry to hear the news and I hope you nail the driver for every penny - can't believe he didn't stop!
I hope the car is back twice as good as new very soon.

Thanks for your messages of concern. I especially like the succinct view of the Scotsman!

My neck hurts and I've got a headache but that's probably stress. The very attractive paramedic took my blood pressure a few times and it was very high; I told her it's normally 120/80 but I am a bit p1ssed off. If you ever call an ambulance in Tottenham the paramedics are great. And the cops were really helpful. The police get a mixed review but today they were fantastic.

Well, Aston is tucked up on a friendly driveway and it's back to Aygo for a while.

Monday will be claim time with Zurich Private Clients and A plan broker. Then it'll be off to Newport Pagnell for some TLC.

I might even get the carbon fibre strakes fitted as a get well soon to the car.

So I'm expecting a top notch service given the huge premium that I pay...

Despite your obvious injuries, it´s a relief to hear you were still aware of your surroundings Mr G.

You know the rules of the Forum.

I had a try. But I crashed and burned. Another Aston Martin owner (a dentist from North London) already has the keys to her heart. A lucky man!

So no photos - and no phone number. Kind of Kate Winslet when she was skinny but taller. And in uniform...

If she had said up front I would have had a crack at her driver who was a stunning red/brunette with piercing blue eyes....

You've made be laugh so thanks very much.

Yeah, but nooooooo!

I think I'd prefer Ayo Technology lady. I'm sure there are house rules about discussing the appeal of members of the emergency services? wink

I'm sure a quick google will find plenty of attractive members of the opposite sex in emergency service clothing smile

When I wrote off my Fiesta the ambulance lady was quite tidy. Shame I was covered in blood and semi-concious. hehe

Really sorry to hear this John, hope you make a swift recovery and the car is sorted soon, unbelievable the other party drove off - what a £&@! The good news is this is what those insurance premiums are for - leave it to them.

Good work smoozing right after an accident though! wink

Sorry to hear John, glad the damage to you appears to be less than that to your car.

Hope you are both back good as new soon.

Much as I don't normally condone it, you may have to try the whiplash route (car accident - NOT fantasy with ambulance bird wink ). Should ensure police follow up and prosecute - failure to stop etc.
Hope car get fixed soon.
