tyre pressure monitoring system

ever since ive had my car since january the words "tyre system fault" apperars momenteraly on the dash on start up in the lcd display.
the tyre pressures are all correct and i have followed the procedure laid out in the hand book , following the sequence of lights on start up, getting it up to 10 mph and then stopping , leave it running and check the lights. All is well, its working fine.
ive never had the flat tyre amber signal appear on the dash.
i just get the warning on start up.
when i purchased the car there was a sheet of a4 from the dealer, in the cars paperwork explaining that this fault warning may appear in cold winter months but not to worry about it.?!, is this a common 'Fault' and can anybody shed any light on it?, i just find it annoying when i see the warning and would like to get it sorted.

Had my 06 V8V three years and never had that happen. Only once had the light on and the tyre it warned about was low - Never happened again after resetting pressures.
Only had the light on once on my current V12V and that was after AM Track day at Brands then a 'brisk' drive home up the M11/A11. Stopped the car and technically 'kicked' all the tyres as you do...felt ok...drove off and light went out..tp's all ok when checked at home..all ok since.

Mine did this all the time. My local dealership said the sensors are "very sensitive" and it's not a fault. In the end, I disconnected the tyre sensor module (under the glove box) which stopped the warning.
Hi, I am new to AM ownership, about 2 days, and my V8V also does this.I will disconnect mine as you described, but can you just explain what comes out from where.

I no longer have the car but from memory... Look under the glove box for the tyre pressure module and it should have one wire going in the back. Feel the back of the module for the connector and remove it. It's a very simple 30 second job and you can reconnect the wire again at any time.

This is it exactly--happens to me too. It's a well-known issue and is covered in service bulletin SB0287. Here's a quote:"TPMS Operation – Error Conditions
Note: If the engine is started before the “Power, Beauty, Soul” message has completed in the DIM, “Tyre System Fault” can be displayed for a short time."
In fact, it's not really an issue at all. Don't unplug it the system. Don't do anything. Either wait for the System Check / page turn animation to finish or stop worrying about it. The warning disappears immediately anyway. There is nothing wrong with your car and don't let anyone tell you differently.

I still have this problem. If I diconnect the system under the dash, then I get a TPWS system error and the fault light on the dash changes from static on to flashing. (Even more annoying)
I would live with the normal fault if only I could get rid of the 'Check Tyres' message so that I can use the trip computor.
Any advice?

Might be a silly question but you did know that pressing the "Read" button (below the Satnav joystick) will make any message disappear and return the speedo/computer display.
If the issue persists is it possible that one of the wheel sensors is broken? Can you narrow it down to a particular wheel with the flashing lights on the receiver under the dash?
Might be a dealer/Rick question.

It usually a sensor that causes it. The SB on techinfo helps techs to diagnose the particular reason the light comes on, it's not because there is an issue with it (there was some confusion a while back). The module under the glovebox has four lights which are colour coded to a collar on each wheel and a single round one at the end. You need to check the system with the fault on the dash before you switch the engine off (and after it's been driven for a few miles) otherwise it loses the fault. If one of the colour ones is flashing yellow after several miles of driving it means the sensor hasn't been seen and probably needs replacing. If it's red it should be due to a pressure fault on the relevant tyre. If the round light on the end is red it means module failure. There have been cases where the connector on the back of the module works loose and switches the unit on and off while you drive which can bring the fault on. More than likely though it's going to be a sensor or tyre pressure that causes it. On later cars as someone here as already found out, if you disconnect the moule the fault still stays on the dash. This was due to some legislation regarding monitoring equipment I believe.
