But sadly not an Aston Martin...

If I had a spare garage I'd buy this in a flash for the sheer bonkers factor.
Note: I don't know the vendor, nothing to do with me, just saw it and like it!

Yes, it's an old school XJS with all of the lead mash welding for the flying buttresses.
Judging my your screen name I wonder if you are thinking that you could swap out one rebodied XJS chassis for another?

I don't have any chassis image issues thank you! Mine is a Vantage anyway
I bet that thing is absolutely terrifying to drive on a wet day.

Ah, no offence intended. My point was clumsily put.I don't have any chassis image issues thank you! Mine is a Vantage anyway

I doubt that terrifying covers it, I just wouldn't fancy it in the wet at all.
I've got a V12V and I can light the tyres up in the dry in 4th. That thing - you can probably wheelspin in top gear with hot tyres on a midsummer day in the bone dry...
But I still want one!

None taken, I wouldn't want you to get the impression that we DB7 owners are touchy or anything!I doubt that terrifying covers it, I just wouldn't fancy it in the wet at all.

With it switched on!!
The TC obviously kicks in very quickly and gathers it up but you feel the spin first.
I have not got the balls to turn the TC off!
Most impressive! Don't think I've ever had the wheels spinning in 4th, had the back end wiggle a little when accelerating a little early on the exit of a corner, but that's about it.The TC obviously kicks in very quickly and gathers it up but you feel the spin first.

I don't dare go near the TC switch either

It's easy and it's incredibly easy when the tyres are cold - the p-zero tyres are pretty poor when they are cold. Hot is a totally different situation!I don't dare go near the TC switch either
When I get the time I am going to get Don Palmer to teach me to drive properly so I can begin to think about switch the TC off.
But I'm probably not tough enough!

Girly question, sorry.
What engine does it have? I thought V12's were bullet proof. A bit surprised it had a full rebuild after 4 years, and even now its only done limited mileage for the age.
Tis rather beautiful in a brutal way.

V12s per se are not bulletproof. They have certain balance characteristics that make them less prone to some problems (primary and secondary balance). What engine does it have? The Jaguar V12 did, in heavily modified form win Le Mans. I suspect that there could have been a problem with the conversion to bore from 5.3 to 7.0.
Not a girly question.
If you ask Bamford Mike he'll give you a much better answer!

That is magnificence personified - love it!
That engine has nothing to do with our beloved Cosworth-designed Duratech V6-sourced V12s, that is the old E-Type V12 block with a lot of boring and stroking!!
I bet it's fantastic for the drive to Le Mans

But I'm not sure how much it has in common with the E type V12. The XJS had HE heads - lauighably 'High efficiency' to take it from 9mpg to 12mpg (or similar). And fuel injection.
And this puppy probably has new conrods, crank, pistons, pulley, flywheel, induction system, fuel injectors, fuel pump blah blah blah.
I'm a big bundle of WANT but it would be madness, I'm not a good enough driver to control that under anything other than one tenth driving...
If anyone on here buys it can I please (pretty please) have a ride?
