Right!

I am on the hunt for a sub-£60k supercar (you can follow the list in the FLMB forum), but I keep coming back to the same idea - a Vanquish looks, sounds and is amazing... But I don't fit in one as is...

Does anyone know whether I can get the from seats slid backwards (move runners) to give me a couple of inches additional leg room?

There must be someone over 6'3" who has got round this to own their dream car?

Thanks

I'm 6'3" and fit in the DB9 Volante with probably like an inch of headroom spare.

I've sat in my uncle's Vanquish and it felt very similar, plus the interior is quite dated. No idea if you can move the runners, but I guess works service would do it for a price. Just have to make sure you get a 2+0 one.

Also, you say you want a supercar. The Vanquish isn't really a supercar, more of a GT.

George, Vanquish is a supercar. As is a 550 Maranello which I have owned 2 of. I don't really fit in a DB9 either... Really grinds as I love AM

They aren't though are they. They might have a nice badge, but that doesn't make them supercars. They are a sports GT.

Don't know if it helps but I am 6'6" and 21st big build, and I own an 05 DB9 and once you've adjusted the seat then it's just gorgeous, really comfy, my advice if you're a big chap is not to reverse the seat all the way back, leave a few inches between the rear seat then tilt the drivers seat down, there's good height adjustment then recline the back if you need too, also not forgetting to adjust the steering wheel rake & reach. I tried a V8V aswell while I was hunting for an Aston and again once you've taken the time to fiddle with the seats you'll have no problems. I own a TVR Chimaera aswell and the seating/driving position in that is just perfect for larger people, very deceptive for a small car.

Trouble is, you sit in a DB9, but you sit on a Vanquish. The Vanquish has a higher seating position than the Gaydon cars - one of the things I didnt like about it (probably the only thing - that and the tape deck! - oh, and the 6 month servicing schedule).

...and the dated interior, and the frequent "check engine light" other than that it is perfect.

And the 3 to 8k bills depending on how lucky or unlucky you are .....they a bottom less pit.....on the positive side, good examples have risen 15 to 30% in value in the past 12 months

Thats right. Swings and roundabouts. The 07 Vanquish cars that were 95k a year or so ago are now up for 105-110k - which in a world of savage depreciation is something to think about. I reckon the Vanqs, Alfa 8Cs, SLRs and Ford GTs are worth a look on this basis. Seem to be going up in £££

fantacstic cars. And like all the non-Gaydon Astons, appreciating in value.

How about the older V8 from the 70s/80s? Or even the Virage/Virage based V8 Coupe or Vantage. These are huge inside. Can easily accommodate the very tall

Midds if you pm sMurph7355 he may be able to shed light on how an inordinately large torso manages to squeeze itself into such a small cockpit.

If you mug him an in-car air freshener I´m sure he would be minded to demonstrate for you biggrin
