I know there must be a thread on here regarding this topic already, but i cant seem to see it anywhere!!
I was at my local AM dealer last week and I asked them about tyres for my 4.3 V8 Vantage...
They told me that there are specific tyres for this car and that no alternatives should be fitted??
Is this right? or does anyone on here run different tyres, would like info on this...
Thanks.

Correct.
If you look at the Brigestone Potenza labelling on the tyre they have an A at the end (50A IIRC - not near the car at the moment), which stands for Aston. Have a stiffer side-wall than the standard Potenza of that size.
getting a new front fitted tomorrow for £260.00, inc fitting, balancing etc - not at an Aston dealership, but a tyre place I can trust not to damage the sensor / valve.

I think that A actually stands for "Asymetric"If you look at the Brigestone Potenza labelling on the tyre they have an A at the end (50A IIRC - not near the car at the moment), which stands for Aston. Have a stiffer side-wall than the standard Potenza of that size.

There is a seperate stamp on the sidewall that says "AM9" which is what diferentiates it from a normal potenza.
All wisdom seems to state not to accept a potenza without the AM9 stamping.
