Personally, I'd leave the bike in the garage and go to Vegas
Mmmmm....see which hotel is offering the best deal on the Strip. The Mirage is a favourite and houses the premier Cirque de Soleil show - the Beatles 'Love'. Upgrade to a suite with your own dining room and bar area in the upper echelons.Or go to Monte Carlo. Le Meridien is usually doing a deal - it has its own beach. Get the helicopter from Nice Airport and have some lunch at the cafe du Paris.
Or go to Mauritius - airport in the south-east corner but stay near Grande Baie in the north-west corner (Troux aux Biches) approx 1.5 hrs commute.
Maldives ?? highly recommend Veligandu Island with its whale sharks and fabulous michelin-level cuisine.
Jordan - stay in Amman but travel to Petra where the Indiana Jones film was shot.
Hong Kong - perhaps WanChai on the Island itself, or stay on Kowloon but a bit noisy. Not sure if the Jade Market is still over there ?? Go South on the Island to Aberdeen or Stanley. Fantastic lace markets.
Where would I go ?? - always New York. Upper East side, the other side of the Park from where John Lennon resided, just by where Sean Connery had his house for sale (bought £800K, asking price £26m). The most exciting place on this earth, with the best food in the world, where billionaires walk alongside paupers. Dichotomies or what ???

Staying at TheHotel at Mandalay Bay in a few weeks time - stayed in the main hotel before there, but not the suites.
Have you tried it there yourself Jockman?
Stayed at The Luxor which is connected to The Hotel, which in turn is connected to the Mandalay Bay. You can see all of them from the airport, so not a big commute.Have you tried it there yourself Jockman?
These hotels are enormous villages in themselves - Mandalay Bay has its own beach complete with waves.
Always ask if there are any upgrade deals at reception and for, say $30 per night you can have an entire suite.
Cracking little bohemian shop called Nora Blue in The Hotel - my wife has several coats from there.
Definitely book Cirque de Soleil at The Mirage - there are another 4 Cirque shows but 'Love' is by far the best. It is difficult to speak after you see the performance in the purpose-built auditoria. We just stared ahead for a few moments after the show.
Get the hotel coach to the Helicopter rides into the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam. We used Papillon.
Take the vid to the water fountain shows at the Bellagio - google it to see what I mean - also try the buffet at the Bellagio where for $20 you just keep eating lobster, kobe beef etc until you pass out.
PS forgot to say to spend 1 night downtown at the Fremont Street Expereience. Try to get the Freddie Mercury & Queen Night.
The whole artificial sky lights up with a show and the casinos turn off their lights.
Breathtaking, and missed by many who go to Vegas.
I found Bouchon in the Venetian a bit disappointing, though a formidable wine selection if, like me, you go for French. Anyway, you can always go on the gondolas instead

I would be going to whatever F1 or MotoGP race is on at that time. With Paddock club tickets. Italian grand prix on 9th-11th of September.
Or if there is no racing on that week, I would be going straight to Cancun, 5* All inclusive, but make sure it's right in the centre. Although it will be considerably less sophisticated than Jockman's suggestions. Depends on your social scene I guess.

For me, that's a lovely time to head to the South of France. Head south to Beaune on the first day, then to Grenoble and onto the Route Napoleon. Stay someone where nice in Cannes/Nice, get a night on Casino Square then head back on the RN, over the Alps and through the Black Forest.

There's no right or wrong with holidays Georgeous - remember I have a caravan too. Admittedly it cost more than most Astons but it's still just a caravan. Your ideas sound great.Yeti, stop waving the wine routes in my face. We always seem to gloss over what is right in front of us - La France !! Beautiful country. Cote de Beaune produces some of the most fantastic white Burgundies, but I cannot appreciate them as I'm an ardent red wine man so I'm on the Cote de Nuits. How they excel with a simple pinot noir grape is beyond me, and even the gamay Beaujolais grape is fab if you pick the right one (Fleurie, le Madonne, apologies for spelling, but cannot be arsed going into the dining room ??).
Anyway, Yeti, where's that tunnel you're on about

There speaks a man who has never driven through Blackpool. If I ended up on holiday there I would feel I have gone majorly wrong somewhere!! I guess one positive is that there'd be plenty of ale and women there. Could probably make for a half decent night out Another recommendation from me would be Barcelona. Went there earlier this year for the grand prix at Circuit de Catalunya, had some great nights out. Singapore is ace too, but so expensive.

unfortunately, I have to go to LV for work a few times a year.
Can honestly say that Luxor is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in and devoid of anything thats good IMO
The venetian or bellagio are the only 2 hotels really worth the experience and take a light aircraft ride over GC - the last flight- so you land when its all illuminated.

Cheers Jockman, this'll be my 5th visit but a couple of nuggets in there I've not tried before.
This one's a lad's trip, so a big noooo to the shows - not that type anyway
Having said that, the mighty Duran Duran are playing at the Hard Rock during my visit so we might have a trip up memory lane.

We stayed at the Wynn last time around, absolutely brilliant. The servers are the prettiest on the strip by far too Can honestly say that Luxor is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in and devoid of anything thats good IMO

No probs matey. The Luxor is indeed soulless and constantly dark inside - only go there if the deal is right.
The Venetian and Bellagio are better, but remain tacky. Next time you are leaning on the ballustrades on the 'Bridge of Sighs' and you realise they are hollow plastercast, you'll know what I mean.
The only one I've stayed in with any character is The Mirage, with its tropical theme, and excellent Japanese restaurant

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-surrey-14298318 Here. When can you be in Sussex? Planning a 5 day trip myself next month.
Day 1. Calais - Beaune via Reims on D396 & D996.
Day 2. Beaune - Geneva via Jura Mountains and Route de la Faucille.
Day 3. Geneva - Luzern via some amazing Alpine Scenery
Day 4. Luzern - Durbach via the Black Forest
Day 5. Durbach - Calais in time for an evening tunnel jouney.
If anyone fancies it... let me know, My DB9, a 550 and a 3200 going at the moment.

In one sentence, you may well have shut the door on discounted upgrades. They try not to encourage single-sex parties in the suites but you never really know until you ask.You could always mince upto reception with your mates and play the gay card of discrimination on them ???
Show them the Duran Duran tickets and you won't even need to hold hands

Cafe de Paris, Monsieur Jockman!
Apologies young Shmee, I may even have made a spelling error on my gamay Fleurie.Funny that the capital city is masculine in a feminine country.
C'est la guerre, nest-ce pas ou c'est la vie, peut etre ? Ca ne fait rien.
So much to remember...so little time in the modern world
