When starting the car , i get a squeaking / whistling noise come from the engine bay (sounds like a 'belt').
After driving a couple of miles the noise disappears.

Looking for an Independent close to Camberley / Farnborough to look into this for me.

Any recommendations ?

I would normally take the car to DMS but it's a long way to go just for this issue - which 'i think' doesn't seem to be serious.

Cheers,
Nick

Hi Nick,

I think this is what happened to my car, it's sort of like a bird tweeting away at the very front of the bonnet? If it is the same, you aren't the first car for it to happen to and I believe there's a notice out about it so any dealership will fix it in 30 minutes for you I believe. Somebody may tell me this is wrong but give your local one a call and see what they say.

I had the "squeaky" belt problem within the first year of delivery of my then new 2007 V8 Vantage. The dealer replaced the belt and pulley. Now, 4.5 years into ownership, I just had the same problem. Similar fix, although the dealer said it was different, improved parts. Covered under original warranty the first time and extended warranty the second time.

I too had this problem..

Unfortunately although the talc works it is only temporary, rain washes it away and the squeak comes back..

Thanks to all for replying.

My car is a 55 plate (so not under warranty).

Can anyone recommend a local to me Independent that they would recommend to look at this ?

I'm in the Camberley / Fleet area.

I would normally take the car to Rick at DMS , just looking for somewhere a little closer to fix this.
