I've given so much thought to having a V12V after driving one at the Homecoming Event, damn you Aston damn you laugh

However at the back of my mind whilst the V12V is an awesome car I feel it would deliver roughly a similar experience as my V8V so I decided to keep the V8V and get an additional car instead biggrin

So this little Caterham Superlight will join the V8V in the garage next weekend bounce

Murph7355 told me to post up some pics to see if we can lure a few others laugh

Can't wait to get back into a 7 for some fun, it will compliment the Aston very nicely driving

very nice, I love em, if only the pedal box was a bit bigger for me (had an accident a few years ago)

I understand your logic though - id sooner have a variety of cars that offer different experiences, than one single (more expensive) car or bike smile

I love cars like this. I considered a Caterham, but I've got my heart set on an Ariel Atom. Only downside is no one will insure me for a reasonable figure.

Also have looked at a Lotus 340R and a 2-Eleven, but they were still a little expensive to insure for the very little use it would get.

I think it will be a TVR Tamora complementing the DB9 soon though smile

Is the TVR Forum aware of this surreptitious move on your part ??

Has the move been sanctioned ?? Has a fee been agreed ??

Are there Agents involved ?? What do your parents say about this ??

Do you feel it is the correct decision at such a tender age ??

So many variables to ponder Georgeous smile

There is not one car in your list George that is a duffer. The 340R and 2-Eleven will be fantastic to drive if my old VX220Turbo was anything to go by smile

Atom's are just epic and can understand you considering one as well, two of my friends have had them and miss them dearly having sold them frown

For info the Caterham is £140pa to insure for me at 40yrs young on 3000miles, this is one of the major attractions as well as easy to service and maintain as well as very good residually biggrin

It won't be a move, it will be an addition. The cheque is in the post. smile

I don't know if I will yet, but one went past me the other week and I have been obsessing about them ever since. Made the Aston sound so quiet, it must have had some sort of sports exhaust on it. Plus the prices seem to be going up, could be a decent investment (unless it breaks down all the time). It wouldn't be until next year anyway, pointless having 2 convertibles over winter.

My parents don't yet know of my plan, but they would no doubt disapprove. They disapproved of my latest purchase of what I thought was a fairly sensible hot hatch! It's when I turn up on a motorbike that I will be in trouble hehe

Only live once! If I want a TVR at a young age then I'll just go get one smile May be a bad move for me to go from cars with all sorts of technology to one that is fairly basic and raw though. Sort of get used to having the back end wiggle a little bit in the Aston, although how I would get on without DSC would be interesting.

Didn't realise insurance for Caterhams was so cheap! Could be tempting scratchchin

Could be a good introduction into lightweight sports cars for me too.

Shame on you Mr Q.

You have confused my good self with TJ.

Which, by the way, I do regard as a compliment smile

Where have you disappeared to now ???

I shall give them a try. I tried Adrian Flux after (foolishly) listening to Jockman saying to try them.

They then sent me this quote:

For this car - http://pistonheads.com/sales/3098594.htm

I shall not even use them for quotation purposes from now on. The quote they did on an Ariel Atom 160 was even more ridiculous. bds.

Apologies TJ, I intercepted an erroneous posting from Mr Q before he was able to delete it.

You keep your focus on Georgeous.

He will be a veritable asset to the TVR forum smile

rofl

The reference to Adrian Flux was not a recommendation, purely a recognition of their sponsorship smile

Oooo, you bought that one, I noticed it up for sale in the Caterham section of the classifieds.

I am wondering if the owner previously had an R400?

I also have a Caterham which is simply one of the best B road cars you can buy smile

I looked at it on Saturday, it was as described in the advert, in excellent condition on the ally panels with just the odd mark here and there with no flaky powdercoating on the chassis.

So all in all excellent for a 10yr old car that has been used, it drove very well, big ream of service papers, original purchase invoice, all old MOT's, last owner 7 years. Happy days

It was clear that it was well cared for so it was rude not to buy it laugh

The previous owner appears to have a sense of irony with the numberplate, I've another plate I can use but R400 NOT kind of appeals so will probably stick with it smile

George - insurance on 7s tends to be reasonable as they tend not to be bought by flash Harrys just wanting the next big thing. Though a few years ago there was a spate of accidents as people with more cash than talent bought big powered cars and binned them.

Try MSM, Aon and various others for insurance.

They are also cheap to repair.

For B road and track use they are great fun. Mid-engined cars are not as adjustable, especially on the limit.

As for the TVR, it's neither one thing nor the other compared to the DB9 or the Atom/7. I like TVRs (have one), but if you'd like a properly chuckable lightweight car it wouldn't be my first choice or even close.
