On the way over to my sisters tonight at 6:30 ish saw a silver DB5 pointing the wrong way and straddling the barrier on the alvechurch highway in Redditch, police were in attendance. From the look of it the passenger side was bent well in. Hope whoever was driving it is ok and that they didn't have a passenger.

Do owners fit seat belts or did these cars come with them already?

Not sure why you gaver this the thumbs up- maybe you thought it was fun??

Anyhow, the DB5 was not fitted with belts as standard, but may have had them fitted as an optional extra or at a latter date. Their crash worthyness was not a priority either, so I really do hope all passengers are OK.

the driver is alive and well 9 (as well as you can be after killing such a beauty), the steering suddenly pulled to the left and while compensating he lost control, it was a hire car he'd only had it 10 mins before the accident, he was on his way to his wedding which was the next day, thank god no one was hurt apart from the driver of course.

Glad there was no passenger as the side of the car looked badly bent.

The most likely thing is that the driver..not particularly used to an auto, slammed his foot onto the brake pedal as if to change gear and the brakes locked up causing the accident.

Glad to hear that he is not injured.

He can relax though as he can't kill the car. Given their value and the cost to rebuild, they are almost impossible to right-off. I think repair would be economic, even if they had to shovel charred remains onto the back of a low loader.
