Door Handle light

Hi All,

I noticed my door handle light has stopped working. Suspect it's just a bulb but wondered if anyone had seen the same on their car. Is it a warranty job? (obviously I can change a bulb but getting to the damn thing looks like a phaff to me.....)

Are you sure it used to work?

Hi Pete - had exactly the same thing. Replaced a door module under warranty and all is now well.

Mine has stopped working but my local AM garage have told me not a warranty issue??

Ask them why not? Get them to show you in the warranty documentation where it rules it out. Phone warratny company direct and argue with them.

Well mine was definitely done under the extended warranty. Did they even bother phone the warranty company?

I find there is a real lack of consistency across the dealer network. It is even the same dealer not being consistent - I had a certain item replaced under warranty two months ago at a dealer. There is now the same issue with that same item on the other side of the car and I have been told that it will not be covered under warranty straight away by the same dealer! They haven't even checked back over the records or phoned the warranty company. I politely reminded them what happened the last time the car was in.

What dealer was it?? Berkshire based??
