...how would you go about it?

Does anyone have any views on any of these?

- Advertise on PH (natch smile )

- Advertise in other car publications (Autotrader, Car and Classic etc)?

- Advertise in non car specific publications (i.e. Sunday Times etc)?

- Sale or return?

- Main AM dealer (if not looking to upgrade to another Aston)?

- Main AM dealer (if looking to upgrade to another Aston)?

- Independent who deals with AM's?

- 'Normal' garage?

- Trade in on another car at a non-Aston dealer(i.e. not Aston)?

I'd be interested in any responses.

Cheers thumbup

FWIW I've never had any joy advertising cars anywhere like Sunday Times or AutoCar
With the exception of the OHs fathers P reg Mondeo which I sold on ebay, every car I've ever sold has been through Autotrader.
In my opinion, Autotrader is the place to sell cars.
Obviously, if you can get a trader (whether main dealer or private) to take it for sensible money that should be the least hassle route.

I have always sold my cars privately and never had a problem......PH and auto trader on line seems to work for me....be realistic with the price.....I normally go for a low price and say "no offers"

If you part X it then it will cost you something at both ends i.e. what you get for your old car and what you could have negotiated off for having no part X Dealers have to make a profit.

Pistonheads for me. I wouldn,t look anywhere else for such a thing, if it was a classic then that's different.

Tried the AMOC site when selling my DB7, didn't get a single call. Must have had 10-15 from PH, sadly most of them too late to stp it being sold for a song...

Thanks folks

So it would appear that PH and autotrader are the most popular

You run a V8 Vantage Roadster, correct?

If so, my dad sent me an email yesterday saying that he loved the car and plate. My dad is also an " ANDY B "

Strange considering the car is now my desktop background! Lol.

Small world.

Sold 2 of my wife’s cars on eBay over the past year. (..yes she did know!!)
Price was cheaper than Autotrader, (posted for a month in classified £15)
Sold them in less than 2 weeks with no problems.
It does help if you do a good presentation with some good photos and by going down the HTML route, then you can host as many photos as you like, on, say, Photobucket and paste them onto your listing.

Funny this! i just stumbled onto this forum whilst posting on another re showing my classic tomorrow........i am currently trying to sell my DB9 volante and have given back to Grange in Brentwood from whence it came......but they have had it 6 weeks with no joy, mostly because they put it up for too much to start with!
i am now getting p""sed off with them and would like to see it gone so i can treat myself to something else.......perhaps i should try advertising on this site!
Regards, Graham........yes another one!

I think the market is probably a bit slower at the moment - had my car advertised for a couple of weeks with little interest and personally I think its well priced.
