Fingers crossed I'm just being silly, is there a way to make the rear parking beepers sound louder?

The front ones are plenty loud enough although I would still prefer them to be even more so, but the rear ones are pretty rubbish that if you're moving around in a garage it's really quite difficult to hear them over the exhausts as you reverse towards a wall.

I've always just told my passenger not to talk and really listened out for them but in Monaco there were cars coming and going from the garages so it was simply impossible to hear my beeps as I reversed and rendered them totally useless but for the life of me I've been unable to find anything in the software to make it louder.

Helpful replies here guys! I suppose I could put Fuse 22 back in because that probably causes most of the issues, it's also obviously a lot easier roof up but I tend to park with the roof still down as it's easier.

I've not seen anything about changing volumes on the parking sensors......

Slightly off topic, but the knuckleheads on top gear used to moan about how so many cars had comprehensive lists of user configurable parameters - the old V10 M5 and some of the Evo models specifically.

For dinosaurs like them it may be tricky but if you have grown up wth computers then it's normal to have all sorts of parameters available for change. Hopefully in future AML will learn this lesson and allow more user involvement.

I had exactly the same issue and asked the same question. I was told that they couldnt be made louder... frown

Perhaps it's a roadster issue as my coupe was MUCH louder than my current roadster and I was asking myself the same question the other day.

Might be a deal fix/tweak?

Surely if the fronts are louder - it has the capacity to be that loud for the rears? Software trickery required I suspect. Interesting, I hadn't considered that a car would make more noise than the sensor beeps, perhaps an engineering oops? Good argument for a fuse 22 switch smile

I think the position of the rear speaker is probably slightly covered by the shape of the roadster somehow; of course the beeps don't come from the same place as you hear them from the direction that it is relevant.

Not that this is going to help.

Shame there is no way - fully agree with Shmee, if you have a ragotp and a noisy exhaust, even with the stereo off they are VERY quiet!

Good point - same issue on DB9 Volante . Although I wonder if volume is variable for some reason ? Seems ok some times and very quiet other times.

Am I missing something here Shmee ?

You have the best parking device known to man at your disposal.

It's called a passenger.

Instead of telling them to shut up, tell them to get out...when you feel the soft crunch of the patella and a blood-curdling scream, stop reversing.

Job's a good 'un.

Next Question, please smile

Having had mine split in half many years ago (and subsequently one half removed), I can confirm the blood-curdling scream, but there is no soft crunch, more of a crack *shudder*

I'm too impatient to wait for passenger to get out and then reverse! And I'm not in a rush to "part-ex the Mrs"!

Anyway, there are clearly workarounds because I've been fine for nearly a year and 10k miles now but were there to have been a setting in the system to raise the volume it would have been nice.

Same here but I had the two halves wired together. I don't remember screaming but gas and air arrived before the adrenaline ran out. smile
