Running Costs DB9
Discussion
Not for me. No slight intended but very happy with my 911 Turbo.
My FiL is giving serious consideration to a DB9 and is prepared to pay up to £60k. I've told him he can find a good one for high forties. Either way, where are we on running costs?
His current motors (apart from a well used Golf GTi for work) are a dealer serviced BMW 630Ci and a dealer serviced 330i, both of which would go in exchange.
Given that I have always run my Porsches through specialists (making my weekender Turbo cheaper to run than a daily drive Seat Leon), what sort of availability is there for specialist servicing for AM? Would it need to be dealer serviced?
We're in the High Wycombe area if that helps.
Thanks.

As you might expect on an Aston forum, this subject has been covered more times than the word "porn" has been entered into goggles search engine......use the search facility My FiL is giving serious consideration to a DB9 and is prepared to pay up to £60k. It would priobably take as long to write 'Chiltern Aston are close to you and do a very good job, Derby Motor Sevices are further away but far more experienced with Gaydon era cars', than make an analogy about pornography/google and 'do a search'.
Wouldn't it?
Both are top notch, Chiltern are well-qualified as a Gaydon (DB9/'entry-level' Vantage) service centre and do a great job, but Rick at DMS pretty much ONLY does Gaydon cars, Chiltern's stock-in trade are DB7s. However, Chiltern are so close to you (just outside Hemel) that it's worth nipping over for a chat with Dom about buying/owning and Ed/Stuart for servicing.
Your 911 will possibly start to feel very dull and rather gauche once the FiL has a DB9. Slightly faster; probably yes, but that's it
