In theory my V8V's due a service in a couple of weeks, being a year since the last one, but nothing's coming up on the dash yet. Does it only come up when the service is actually due? If so, that's pretty stupid as it would be overdue by the time you got it done!

Incidentally, I'm in the Thames Valley. Reading's my nearest dealer, but could also get to Cheltenham or Amersham if I had to. Car's quite new so want to keep main dealer for the moment and there's a few minor warranty items need looking at. Any advice/experiences would be gratefully received. PM me if you've any tails of woe that won't pass the forum rules!

No theory about it. I would advise getting it serviced every 12 months to conform with warranty requirements.

I've never had a warning light on mine to inform of a service as I've stuck to 12 month periods.

Didn't even know there would be a warning light smile

Mine definitely came up with a service message before the service was due. Can't remember how much warning it gave. Maybe a couple of weeks or so.

Are you sure that wasn't something like "DSC Service Required"?

Mine's never come up with a warning - am pretty sure they don't.

OP - you're not going to be a million miles from HWM in Walton I guess. I've always had good experience there.

Mon ami sMurph - I genuinely have never been pre-warned about a service and I had started thinking that perhaps I was putting it in too early.

But then to my chagrin, I realised that there was a 13 month delay during my last servicing period.

And still no warning light smile

Yup, just checked my DB9 Manual page 4.6 - 'Time for Regular Service' will be displayed for 120 seconds at ignition when a regular service is due.

I think I may need to wait longer than 13 months then?? Not ideal really smile

I'm also in the Thames Valley, and have used Amersam over the last year for servicing and any warranty work.
Highly recommend the team there.

Don't know when it is supposed to come on,etc.. but I can confirm there is a 'regular service due' or words to that effect does come up on the V8V.

The team at Amersham get a big thumbs up from me too, their service manager, Alan, is a top guy. Helps that he posts on here clap, which means he makes extra sure you are looked after.

I wonder if this is on newer cars?

I've been a few hundred miles over, and a few weeks over the schedule and never received anything (MY07 car).

Don't see the point of a service warning if it happens after a service is due according to the schedule!
