My master plan for parking in Edinburgh has failed - we are due to visit my son there next week (he lives in the town centre with no off-street parking.

Does anyone know of a safe place to park my V8V for a few days - for instance is the airport long term parking OK ? Or maybe somewhere in the city ?

He can pick us up from where ever...

I would be most grateful for any suggestions,

Cheers,

Chris

I parked at the St James centre NCP for 3 days (http://en.parkopedia.co.uk/parking/carpark/edinburgh_st_james_centre/eh1/edinburgh/)

Was safe and relatively empty at the evenings/weekends, however it seemed INCREDIBLY tight to get in as you have to go up a very steep and narrow spiral ramp for a good few storeys. I had only had the car for a few days at that time so it may have been a novices perception.

Watch your wheels!

The Radisson has underground parking on the Royal Mile.

I'm not sure what the cost is as a non-hotel resident but it's secure.

Great secure parking the The Hyatt, just off Lothian Road, near Princes Street, within site of The Castle.

Do you need the car during the stay ? If not there is a park and ride on the exit road from the airport and another by Heriot Watt University -all for the price of a bus fare.
If you need access to it NCP have plenty of central car parks but a quieter car park might be one at Edinburgh Quay
Airport car park is expensive - there are cheaper ones just outside the airport but you would need to check them out.
I live in the New Town and park in the street - no problems so far and there are parts where regulations don't apply at weekends

Thanks to all for the replies - I will contact the hotels to see what they charge - I don't need to use the car at all once we get there since my son has residents parking in the city centre and can ferry us around.

Really looking forward to the festival and the odd beer or two !

Cheers,

Chris
