Fuse 22(?) removed, quiet enough for Bedford?
Discussion
Hi guys, my mate's Mrs is arranging a supprise trackday for him to do in his V8V, he got it a few months ago & got the garage to remove the fuse that dissables the controll on the exhaust. Will it be within acvolume ceptable for use @ Bedford like that or should it be replaced does anyone know? I think Bedford is 101db from memory.
Might join him in my 2.7 Boxster and see just how much of the performance gap I can close with my skill & mid engined chassis!
Thanks all

The fuse doesn't make the exhaust louder, it just stops in being made quieter if that makes sense!
The car will be noise tested at about 4500rpm which is the same level of sound with or without the fuse installed as the valves are open either way.
Will it pass... It should do if it's a standard system, 101dB is pretty lax actually.

The static nose test at Bedford is just half the issue (in fact its probably less than half). there is also a drive by set at 87.5dB and from what I've seen, people quite often pass the static quite easily only to be black flagged during the day because they tripped the drive-by.
Obbviously you can arrange a static test and maybe that'll give you a pointer, but organising a sensible drive by test (and replicating the conditions on your day) is a bit more complicated.
Good luck with it... but I don't think its a foregne conclusion at all.
