Forgive me if I missed a previous thread, but I'm new to this forum. What tuning, especially HP gains and weight reduction, is available for the V12V? I'm in the USA, so the mods would need to be available here. And I believe the AM Works group won't/can't do the job.
Hi Scott. Welcome!Try having a look at the Bamford Rose 'sticky' thread...
(Tongue in cheek and giggling to himself) A number of folks on here would love to hear about this being done to a V12 I'm sure (the V8 discussion was 'Lively')........ http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
Sorry I can't actually offer any proper help or advice but I'm interested to hear what you have and what you would like to do to it. What's wrong with your V12 that you want to change? (just interested in the reasoning for wanting to tinker with it)

Is there not something that was mentioned about Vanquish S pistons into the V12V for more power?
Vanquish S heads and induction for the DB9, the DBS and V12V already have the equivalent of that gain.Bamford Rose are working on a set of bespoke manifolds, coupled with 200 cell cats and a decent backbox that'll get you to 550bhp so they advertise. Ready next spring.
I intend to go for all of them on my DB9, though if pressed I can't answer 'why?'...
I had a 2007 V8V (MT, Vertigo Blue with AM power pack upgrade, Larani exhaust including cats & sports box, clear tail lights and 20" DBS wheels) until I sold it to help finance a Tungsten V12V. I am ordering the car through the local dealer and hope to see it by the end of the year.
We work with high performance clients and I would like to see a bit more squeezed from the car. I plan to keep this car forever (don''t we all say that) so all the changes must be easily reversed. 550 HP and 100 pounds off the car would be ideal. I also really like the way the DBS wheels fit in the V8V and wish that the V12V had an optional 20" version of the stock wheel.

If you want to save weight, how is putting a bigger wheel size going to help? As well as making it ride/handle worse.
If your only looking to save 45kg, I'd just half fill the tank with petrol next time you fill up.
The Dallas dealer put the 20" DBS wheels on my V8 and they did not degrade the ride or handling. I was anxious initially as that was my first thought, too. However, the stock DBS wheels and tires were fantastic. If your only looking to save 45kg, I'd just half fill the tank with petrol next time you fill up.
I realize that 20" wheels might increase weight. That being said, my goals are to cut weight, boost power and if possible get a bit more rubber under the car. The DBS wheels really looked great and filled up the wheel wells without looking ghetto.

20" wheels do not fit the V12V as there is not enough room inside the wheel arch to allow a full lock-to-lock turning circle. This was explained during a V12V meeting at Works Service as they had to re-locate the oil sump on the V12V compared to the dry sump in the V8V.
That is an excellent explanation. Thanks for clearing that up. I never heard that before. This is a great forum.Gassing Station | Aston Martin | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
