1. Like for like standard replacements, quoted £2,000 + fitting

2. Sportspack kit , quoted £4900 all in. (Is there a better price out there?)

3. Sportspack components except for the wheels, (mine are standard but mint having been refurbished) Price???

4. Nitron adjustable dampers with new springs, approx £1900. (What spring rate would you use. What is optimum ride height?)

Fancy a firmer ride so now seems like the right time.

How much should I expect to get for my anthracite 7 spoke wheels if I go for the Sportspack?

Any suggestions appreciated.

Depends how much expense you want!

Do Nitron have decent data for V8Vs? If they do, I'd consider them (pref. via a shop who'll let you try them before final commitment).

The Sportspack set up will likely retain more of its value come resale.

Not sure how much std wheels go for.

I assume that if you're asking whether you should get Sports Pack you can afford it - in which case it's a no brainer!

You could see what it costs without the wheels then try and pick up a second hand set of Sports Pack alloys, they come up from time to time. I bought mine on eBay...

Your standard wheels might be worth money as a winter set or a cheaper option than a wheel refurb? Can't see them being much more than £100/wheel as you'll be selling without tyres. Seems a good few people have cracked rims so there's a always a market for selling singly as well!

Do sports pack wheels actually make any difference, except possibly being slightly lighter.

Thanks for the suggestions

The Sports pack is very appealing for saleability and as a tried and tested package.

If anyone is looking for a set of 7 spoke anthracite wheels with TPS in perfect condition the decision to upgrade will be easier to make.

Having taken independent advice, the diagnosis of 4 weeping dampers by the Aston dealer workshop seems very unusual. I'll let Rick check them out next week and make a decision based on his appraisal.

They are 1kg per wheel lighter than the standard one, that's not a bad saving on unsprung weight. Ti wheel nuts as well if you're a tart (I am!) also shave off close to a pound!

A whole pound saved in wheel nuts! Do you also drive the car naked to save the extra weight of clothing? hehe

Not sure clothes count as unsprung weight George... wink

All a bit of a gimmick I suppose, but then I'm a gimmicky guy!

£400 for a set of standard wheels in good condition is about the going rate.

If you sell them individually you will shift them quicker from experience.

Very interested in what you go for damper wise.

Thats the key - sprung weight saving is great but unsprung also improves the suspension performance and reduces the interia the drive train has to over come. That's why you never see race cars with "bling 20" rims".

£400!

I'm going to look in to aftermarket ones for the V8V
I had some Rays ones my last car, 7 sided so acted as lock nuts as well.
