On my return from Goodwood to Preston last weekend, I noticed a 'strumming' noise from the rear of the car (06 V8V) once I'd got on the motorway.
It sounded like a wheel bearing or brake binding and increased in tempo with the speed of the car.
Just had it looked at by a good friend who owns X-works Service TVR garage and he has discounted a wheel bearing or brake as the cause.
He's recommended a change of diff oil as a possible cure as having checked my service records, it appears not to have been changed/checked.
Currently about 32000 miles on the clock.
Anybody had anything similar?

I would not rule out the wheel bearing, I had one recently with no play just noisy/ drumming at speed.
If the diff is noisy, changing the oil is a bit too late. Ring and pinion on these is specialist, not even sure if AML rebuild them anyway??

Thanks very much for that. I spoke to the service and parts dept at JCT600 and both said wheel bearings were a common issue but no knowledge of diffs going on V8Vs. I'm going to have another look at it tomorrow and let you know.
