And I'm getting nervous.

Due there Friday and getting jitters.

Its ridiculous, I've done Porsche and BMW, no problems. Perhaps its an age thing!!

Any advice would be appreciated.

Relax and listen to what you're being told, they know best! You've done the others, this is more of the same, just better smile

And let us know how you get on, I would love to do this in a DBS driving

Do you get a choice of cars to do it in? I've been looking at this recently, would love to do it. Bet it's good fun thrashing someone else's car around biggrin

As said relax, your instructor will give you all the confidence you need.Enjoy the day and go at your own pace. You will be surprized just how quick you'll get as the day goes by and your confidence grows.
Theres plenty of different elements to enjoy that will show you just how good your own car really is so just chill,
it will be fun honest!.
Warning when the day is over watch your speed driving home because 70 will feel so slow and plod will just love you
telling them you've just finished a performance driving coarse!!!!!.
Finally which instructor did you finish up booking?.

Hola Di.

You will be mighty fine.

You are a young, sprightly 49 year old, with many motoring years ahead (trust me on that one) so drop the age thing forthwith.

Not many people do the AM PDC so your nerves are probably down to exclusive anticipation.

Good luck and some feedback would be good - I´m sorely tempted myself smile

George, they try to keep you in a car commensurate with that which you own / drive regularly.

You would obviously be put in a DB9, though I´m not sure you would get a gay-man´s volante thrown in smile

Sounds good smile I will drop you a PM some time in the near future, don't have the time to do it at the moment, will be October-ish. Thanks though smile

Jockman - How can a volante be a "gay-man's"? It's like the ultimate pulling car, plus it takes a real man to drive with the roof down in nearly all conditions biggrin

Don't want to do it in a DB9, I think I'd have to go for the DBS or Virage.

No probs with that George if your intention is to attract other men biggrin

There is a logic in putting you with your own type of car. The course will teach you how to handle your car in all types of conditions and theoretically turn you into a better driver.

Feel free to defy the logic smile

Hi matey I've got Simon Dickinson. Hope he is a patient guy.

Will get Tony to drive home, think my adrenaline levels might be a tad high.

I am really looking forward to it. Guess maybe I just don't want to screw up.

Will report honestly, warts and all.

Expect to have your expectations realigned of what your car is capable of.

I was so lucky as I was the only guest when I attended my course earlier this year which made it a truly memorable and special day.

The most important thing is to relax and enjoy the day.

All you need to do is look at AM's website - The DB9 coupe has a picture of a middle aged business man driving what appears to be a tungsten silver car. The Volante has a very attractive young woman driving biggrin

The only worry I have of learning to drive fast I'll come out of it pretending I'm Jenson Button (but without the talent). Although if it can teach me to drift it at roundabouts then it will be pretty worthwhile! biggrin

I did one in May - a lightning silver V12V with sports seats. It is great fun (but dont eat too much lunch) and it will relinquish any doubts you have about selling the car.

The 2 mile thrash (0 to 170/175mph) and the high-speed Alpine course (with the dips and humps) will send you giddy. However, overall, you will come away with an overwhelming impression that the car is safe beyond belief!

I'm going to do it again one day no-doubt!

Molly and I both did the Performance Driving Course last year. I had convinced her we both needed to do it to enable us to get cheaper insurance! We had an awesome day, the instructors are brilliant. You will learn loads.
Have an early night before you go, I was quite knackered by the end of the day.

Get in someone else's car. Spank the living daylights out of it in a safe enviroment with an instuctor who is knowledgeable.

What's not to like here? But hey, I'll take your place if you are too nervous....

You will love it!

As the man said. Loved the Alpine course & the 2 mile thrash. However, confess I hadn't got the guts to stay at the top of the banked circuit with my hands off the s/wheel for long!wobble

We were really lucky too in getting just us (me & Mr GT) & drivers Rupert & Paul there that day. He had the V8V (this was while his was on order) & I got the V12V hehe The instructors were fab - they really give you confidence in what both you & the car are capable of. Driving in the wet, for instance, is no longer a daunting prospect smile

Plus - we arrived early to meet the drivers & got ourselves an impromptu tour of works service spin

Trust me - relax, enjoy, learn & show the boys how it's done wink You'll have a great day byebye
