Hi Folks,

My roof on the roadster has a little 'scuff' about the length of my thumb which appears on the drivers side just up from the window (top left hand corner as you open the door to get in)

It looks like it's wear and tear from the roof going up and down and appears where a strutt is underneath it. The car is an 07, with only 12K on the clock so it's not had a tough life. Seems a bit 'short lived' for the roof to be getting signs of wear already!

Any one had any roof work done under warranty....rather suspect a hood is a little bit pricey!!

Will pop along to my local dealer at some point and ask them but figured I would ask you motley crew for your experiences first! :-)

Cheers!
Good-Soil

I was surprised at the 'wear' on the top of my MY06 DB9 with only 8K miles on it as compared to the Jaguar XJS's I've owned. I have noticed that on most DB9 Volantes, it seems that the left hand side C-Pillar appears considerably wrinkled and 'worn'. I used to think it was my car only, but then on close inpsection of many photos of cars for sale, you can see the typical 'wear'. And at the front, there are often marks above the bows as you have noticed.

Like I said, the tops on my XJS's always looked new, even 15 years on. Maybe it's that 'finer' cloth that is used for the AMs vs the coarser fabric of the Jaguar that is the culprit. In any case, it mars the appearance of the car when the top is up. But no way would I spend money to fix it knowing full well that the new top would suffer the same fate shortly thereafter.

Thanks for your input.....I was more thinking of spending Aston's warranty money on getting it fixed than my own hard earned pennies! :-)

Pictures please!
There is an issue with the middle support bar between the inner and outer roof.
It can wear both liners. I had mine recovered after I found it to be issue on most the used roadsters I looked at.
The C pillar area does a lot of folding when the roof goes down so it is likely to be the first place to show wear.
