Well I collect it on Thursday, I am very excited. My six month old Vantage in part exchange . The experience has been awesome ,we have driven 5500 miles it has made us realise how lucky we are, the car has stired so many emotions to be honest all of them.

As soon as I can I will ask Molly to post pictures and a comprehensive report on the S, she is so good that way !

God if you are reading this . Please no rain tomorrow or on Sunday, I would be most gratefull.

Regards to you all

Rob

Well we did it! Only 6 months of V8 Vantage ownership & himself had to go & change our lovely meteorite silver Vantage for the new V8S (in tungsten silver). They may look very similar but I have to say it's a different beastie.

I had a (belated) drive in Broughton's demo before we did the handover (not having been involved in any purchasing decisions irked) as I know himself will be lacking in patience to explain the new gearbox to me. Not exactly an auto but not really a manual either. When in doubt press D for drive & it'll do its thing, start using the paddles to go up & down the gears & you realise how quick the response is, press S for sport & hold on tight - we have lift off! smokin

Definitely a firmer ride, quicker response from the steering & a fantastic howl from the exhaust. All in all pretty much exactly as Steve Sutcliffe from Autocar said "A proper, proper sports car" (track down his video review - sorry I'm rubbish with links but it's well worth watching if you are considering taking on a V8S).smile

We only bought it home last night so too soon to say what it's really like to live with but will let you know how it works out. Expect more from a very excited Rob GT soon blabla

Both cars were very firmly sold to Rob by Rachel. He's been really impressed by her knowledge & responses. Being used to being on the other side of the sales desk it takes more than a big smile to impress him wink but she has all the answers & knows the product really well. She's even charmed me despite selling my husband another Aston 6 months after the first one irked

Fair credit - I would have to recommend her & the dealership.

I dealt with Howard there for the purchase of the DBS but met Rachel in passing. They get a big thumbs up from me too. Definitely recommended. smile

Rob, Molly, thanks for sharing your new baby with us - absolute stunner, same colour as my DB9 with the same rear lights.

Next step, the V12 engine biggrin

A young lady has just taken over my account at Stratstone. Needed some phone advice the other day - Very, very impressed smile

Hey Jockman smile Never underestimate us girls - some of us quite like cars (& bikes) rolleyes & some even understand more about them than a lot of blokes tongue out I had a go at trying to sell cars but I wasn't much good at it - I didn't have what it takes: the killer instinct and the gift of the gab! Rob GT was really good at it but he specialised in extra bcensoredit hehe

I would reiterate tho' that Rachel impressed us as she really knows her product. Perhaps Aston have got their dealer staff training sussed as well as their cars bow

Car looks great (despite being Tungsten silver tongue out)

What is the interior like on these? Same as a normal V8V or redesigned?

That is a great looking car, as lovely as the old one was this really does look and sound like a huge step up. I wonder of you'll miss the manual box?

So what are you selling it for in 6 months time? wink
