Does any one know if the 20" wheels from the DBS will fit the V8 Vantage???

Just seen one today and the wheels really are gorgeous.......

They... Sort of do!
I think the DMS website answers this in Ricks FAQ.

Not really recommended as I recall. DB9 and V8 wheels are interchangable though.

Burntout, I had the same question last week for a dealer in California while looking at the 2010 20' ten spoke rims. He sent the question to the UK office and the reply was no, the rear rims were too large for the V8 vantage. Kinda odd as in the US there are a few aftermarket rims in the same size as the rear DBS rims, which fit fine on the V8. RC

Since the wheels are bigger - won't you screw up the speedometer reading? And the gear ratios would be "wrong"?

I thought that, I guess you could fit a bit lower profile tyres on, but it must still affect it a bit.

Can you get lower profile tyres in that size? Any lower and you might as well paint the rubber onto the wheel!

I wouldn't have thought so as you get 18" and 19" wheel choices from AM?

Difficulty in fitting 20-inchers aside, you are better off sticking with 19-inch wheels/tyre widths on the Vantage, they are a balanced part of the cars dynamic set-up.

Good point! Just seen the DBS rear tyres are 295/30R20. Would struggle getting that much smaller hehe

Its a tough decision make, I agree there are aftermarket wheels in 20" that fit the V8. And also the arches are quite accomodating, so I cant see there not being enough room for them!!

I really like the wheels on the DBS,very similar design to the wheels on the V12 Vantage plus I think that the V8 would look much better on 20" wheels. This would also mean keeping the car within genuine Aston martin add ons and wouldnt make the car look too pimped!

I know it would nock out the speedo by a bit, but that doesnt really bother me as I rarley look at it!! LOL.....

I might ask a dealer to try a set on mine and see... Cant see them saying no if there a nice sale in it for them.

Just out of interest, how much would a set of DBS wheels cost from a dealer? I would guess at a few £k.

Also will it not ride/handle worse?

Er, so factory fit choice of 18 or 19 means that aftermarket 20 is ok? The circumference of the tyre would have to be identical to avoid the speedometer issue. I am sure that AML will either do that with the 18" or 19" wheels or else they recalibrate the speedo.

Just because they may fit does not make it a good idea...

Around £4.5k for 4 alloys.

I never said it was a good idea just that a 1" size difference wouldn't be that big a deal.
I would wager that it would not make a noticable change to the speedo.

The forged wheels are made in the USA. I bet you are paying for two sets of shipping as well.

Alcoa make them somewhere in the NE of the USA. You could try and see if you can buy them directly (unlikely).

Yeah- There was a gentleman selling his 2010 DBS rims; but no sense in getting them if they won't fit properly.

I also asked the dealer about the sports pack 19' rims. If I remember correctly those are close to 7 grand, but include tires.

Before it disappears from eBay (since it has already been sold), here are pictures of a V8V with DBS wheels that Scott Black posted on 6speed.
